Since you asked, I think we are slaves to profit If total income equals total expenditure, when profit is extracted it will always cause a net deficit Although the profit is reinvested into new production, it has upset the original balance Rather than simply meeting the needs of society by maintaining the balance of production, we are constantly chasing growth The perpetual net deficit eventually spirals into a crash The slave mentality, "easier to stay where we are because it's where we've always been"
