Non-silver coins really haven't gone up in value in the past 20 years I even randomly looked up coins I bought 15-20 years ago, and there was no real value change They really aren't the best investmentbrbrPrecious metals do have potential, but there are better investments Comment from : BrentsCardsAnd Coins |

TLDR, yes you can, if you are willing to learn the art of collection i myself don't engage much in bartering in my 20 years of collection life but a friend near my age does have a successful career running a numismatic shop Comment from : Clement Wong |
I would say that after two years into the hobby with study of grading, the most one should sell is constitutional silver, mint and proof sets One of the good series to start selling is Kennedy halves as the vast majority is clad and there is only one year 90 silver It is rich enough to enjoy learning but not overwhelming But sticking with these lowers greatly the risk of selling unknowingly counterfeits brbrThe comment of World coins is spot on Especially 19th century -- many gold and silver coins from South American countries are quite affordable brbrAnd yes in the 18th and early 19th century, most Americans used a panoply of silver coins from Spain, England and France Comment from : alphabet661 Chris Sahar |
I buy as much as possible gold coin of numismatic worth - as much I can with my very modest budget If bullion, I go for that with low mintages Comment from : alphabet661 Chris Sahar |

Elephants are classy Comment from : Silverback |

It’s a good place to park your money with no expectations of the bank closing down or stock/crypto being shorted! This way your sliver or gold will always have a value and the biggest value is being able to hold that money in your hands without having big stacks of cash laying around This is how I look at it and I also buy old coins that I think look cool even if there isn’t any silver or gold in that coin Comment from : TNN |
How tall is that kid? Comment from : TNN |
Can you ask just for curiosity sake if they ever get any Australian 1966 Round 50c coins? They're our junk silver and I'm curious to see what they're treated like over there (here most are considered bullion unless really good condition) bredit:: Another fun junk one is the New Guinea Shillings, they have a hole in the middle and for some reason that tickles my fancy But they're 925 Comment from : Goat |

Been going to harrys for years and he is always cool but that younger guy richard is a arrogant chump I was in their Saturday and someone sold them some queens beast so I asked go see them and picked a few out to buy, like a minute later I said actually I'll just take the other and richard said "too late you had your chance so now I'm gonna sell them online" I understand them wanting to make the largest possible profit but sucks for guys like me who have been shopping here for years and now all the best stuff is kept in the back for online I used to be able to get englehhard at his shop pretty much every time but now never I pretty much just use his shop for 90 purchases since richard came aboard to support the online sales Comment from : Packin And Stackin |

I am a hobbyist The only way i can see to make money in coins is to become a dealer The hobbyist has to buy retail, sell wholesale and pay the postage both ways, if dealings with an online coin shop Coins that we bought 20 plus years ago, yes we could make a little money If i buy a silver eagle today, i would be hard pressed to break even if i decided to sell it in tne short term Grading coins is somewhat subjective, more than a few disagreements are started over coin grading between the buyer and seller It is very possible for my children to make money off of our coins, but not us Comment from : Smitty |

Silver Dragons, I love world gold and silver coins Its a pity that many dealers and people only focus on American coins Sure I understand if you live in the US you would buy American coins However many world coins are cheaper and often much less than US coins, somemay also have higher gold and silver content than US coins So if you are not also looking at world coins, you are missing out Comment from : Gold Maple |
