Big point about the emotional connection That’s the only reason I accept the financial blow to my bank account… Willingly… To see my kids smile and bond and connect with my family around a week of carefree pampering and fun! Comment from : tdubblz |

LOL, last time I went to Disney (over 10 years ago), I knew their food was pathetically overpriced I cashed in my credit card rewards before leaving and had two free meals It saved me waaayyyyy over $30 Yes, even 10-11 years ago, the food prices were ridiculous Comment from : largol33t1 |

7:40 Back in the 1950s, there was the "keeping up with the Jones" mentality of consumerism You always had to have the same or more than what your neighbours had These days, there's the "keeping up with social media" mentality, where the sole purpose of buying things and experiences is to post about them online We as humans constantly need validation for our existence, and that validation frequently comes in the form of our possessions I have no issue with souvenirs, souvenirs are fun and I love them But there comes a time when we all have to ask ourselves, "how much is 'enough'?" Whatever one’s opinion, you can have a great time at Disney World without ever stepping into a theme park The property is vast take time to carouse around their resorts, the boardwalk, the gondola, and of course Disney Springs Comment from : Tom Kenny |

I love disney to death and my experiences at Disney World has always been great, but it’s ridiculous how they pay their employees so little and I know they make a fortune since Disney pretty much owns everything now Comment from : Nick Young |

Regarding the bit about the burger- if you do the math, $3us of ingredients to a $12us sale price is a 25 food cost Most restaurants aim for a 20 food cost However while this may be an acceptable number, I am sure that their food cost percentage is much lower given the quality of Disney food being mostly lack luster in many outlets They are marking up their "churros" to a much higher degree however They use a mass-produced pastry stick product that is roughly $12us for 25 pieces in retail stores such as "Smart and Final" This makes those same "churros" $48 each, at retail When bought wholesale, that price drops to possibly $30 or much less You pay $7us, it cost them maybe a quarter Meaning that they make $210us PROFIT per churro I may be wrong, but ding dang do their "churros" make moneybrbrbr(I put churro in quotes simply because the do not sell actual churros, but pastry sticks that they call churros) Comment from : Daniel B |
The reason for lower prices after day 1 is so you dont visit Universal Comment from : mike gruber |
Easy, barely build any rides and instead just have the majority of it being food and shops with a lot of window dressing It's more mall than theme park Comment from : Jarkkehhh |

Hello guys! First of all I'd like to say congratulations for your videos You do an amazing job and I'm a huge fan Re-watching this video in a post-covid age I was wondering what are your thoughts about luxury offerings now Do you think Disney Parks are going to increase this kind of offers becoming a more elitist/luxury entertainment option? Even further, do you think the Disney park experience by itself will become a luxury offer? That would reduce the assistance but kind of assure the income in merch, dinning, hotel stays Thanks for reading! And if you would like to discuss further my Twitter is@josealfar0 ✌️ Comment from : Jose Alfaro Navarro |
I've never thought of Disney as a luxury brand but it totally is At least at the end of the day you receive a quality product for the price (in my opinion) Comment from : Jedidiah Prillaman |

What I don't understand about marking up food/merch prices is that they could sell much more product for cheaper What's better, selling 1 $30 bedazzled headband, or 4 $12 bedazzled headbands? Comment from : RAB |

Seems to be a long way from Walt Disney's original vision of a park where parents and kids could have fun together I know he didn't shy away from making money, but I wonder what he'd think Comment from : Ross Buchanan |

" perceived value" pretty much sums up how they make a profit Comment from : Denis S |
Paradise Pier was such a ripoff After staying at a resort in Disneyworld, I thought Paradise Pier would be similar but it was just a normal hotel$300+ for a motel 6 quality room Plus, it wasn’t even close to the Parks! I’ll never stay at a Disney Hotel in Cali unless I start making a whole lot more money Comment from : Flee |
Funny that they think that their theme parks are "premium" when Universal is soooo much better I guess if you're a kid or kid-minded they might be fun tho Comment from : Randude14 |

Keep making content like that and this channel will grow very soon Comment from : Juan Carlos Solorzano |
I don't think Disney prices it's tickets to "how much it costs to operate" It's based on how much people are willing to pay to go to the park If they decreased the price of the ticket, you'd have thousands more people showing up, line ups would be crazy and your wait times would be hours and hours for a ride By raising the prices, it keeps people AWAY from the park It has nothing to do with how much it costs them Disney also knows most people don't have much time to spend at these parks Sorry, not everyone lives in Anaheim or Orlando So offering the discounts for consecutive days doesn't matter It's also to keep people from visiting other competing parks, like Universal Studios, or Knotts, etc It's all manipulation It has nothing to do with real operating costs Comment from : wakeupscreaming |
10:14 --- we visited Walt Disney World in 2012 Hard to believe, but we could not find a souvenir key chain of Cinderella Castle Seriously? The best we could find was lame generic, cost cutting "Disney Parks" Castle that could have been in California, Florida, Paris, or Tokyo Talk about cheap Still leaves a bad taste in my mouth Comment from : DavidinSLO |
Why do Australians think that “California” has an R at the end? Comment from : JeevesReturns |

despite knowing how much money i'm giving to Disney and completely aware of Marketing tactics, i still spend willingly park visits, mickey shaped food, merchandise while at park, the flavored popcorn at Tokyo Disney Resort, monthly purchase on Disney Store/Shop Disney, every Disney movie release (multiple times), digital copy of movie, DVD from the vault, Disney+ Subsription, limited edition or monthly subscription merch, Mickey ears, Pins, Legos, Plushies, dolls, headphones, obscure Disney Licensed products, even my Kleenex has Disney on it! Comment from : daryltyz |
Low ticket price? You are a fool haha Comment from : andyplanet |

I have to call bullshit on this one, you can not begin to convince me that with their ticket prices (which are not in line with the competition) is not a huge profit point Comment from : Jesse Mask |
And they lost a billion in only one month of being closed during the covid-19 pandemic Comment from : WhirlOmar |
Just take your own food with you when in the park Or is that forbidden? Don't stay at Disney Hotels And just don't buy these ridiculous expensive merchandise, which are cheaply made in China You will save quite a lot of money with that Actually, take a look around and go to other parks, cities or just enjoy nature Saving even more money Comment from : Moow |
It will be interesting to see what happens to prices in the future, If the US government introduces higher tarriffs on Chinese imports Will America start making stuff themselves, will it be viable to do so? With so many out of work and no REAL mnimum wages there is a huge opportunity for sweat shop manufacturing to occur Comment from : Lyn Jenkins |
How ever they need to turn a profit, I am good with it Best experiences ever Comment from : Destinations Chronicles |

I can’t escape the feeling that Disney regards it customers as cattle 🐮 herding us in and milking us dry but leaving just enough to do it all again next year I feel sorry for anyone caught in the social media bubble where they feel obligated to buy just to fit in I’m not immune, in the past Ive bought a fair few Disney mugs and the like but I refuse to pay a 300 markup for some cheap Chinese tat these days brbrSo save up your money, take your kids to Disney just don’t get suckered in to the marketing trap Kids won’t remember the overpriced merchandise or the candy they remember the rids and the good times instead brbrGreat video as always guys 👍 Comment from : jonny5777 |
