I had a lot of trouble learning in school I didn't fit the box I also dropped out of college because I failed math, and didn't feel safe to continue paying for college I never found any support until I got diagnosed with dyscalculia and ADD at age 40, and I've been working on compensating for ADD to improve my overall life I've learned about neuroplasticity in the last few years, which makes me want to improve my math skills If anyone reading this can point out learning resources for adults with dyscalculia, please add them to the comments Thank you

I need to use my fingers to count months, or days or the week, also for math I use my fingers Everytime I count I need to use my fingers I'm dumb

I’ve always had trouble with maths I won’t play any games that need scoring I can’t count backwards from a 100 Working out ,fractions or geometry, that kind of thing Although I got 6 I’m please I watched your video So thank you

I have NEVER applied for a job that required math tests Im fine with addition and subtraction and some division But i cant concept anything past that Any fractions it useless Its like trying to read a foreign language As an adult i took basic math and after taking the class 3 times The instruction sat down with me and said i may want to enroll in a math class that specializes in math disabilities I just quit

I think i have this disorder, because i can't even calculate simple math problems like addition and subtraction in mind, I'm 17 and i still use my fingers to add or subtract even easier numbers 😔

I found out about dyscalculia today and I'm 34 suddenly I kept getting tons and tons of memories falling into place and make so much sense like why I can remember which numbers appear in my phone number but I can't recall the sequence they appear in because numbers easily switch places It made me remember the times someone told me a number, let's say 53 and I remembered a 3 and a 5 so I misremembered it as 35 I am super comfortable with analogue clocks only because it was the only clock I knew until mobile phones came around when I was a teen and my country uses the 24 hour system but I admittedly had trouble with it for longer than my peers and had to count from anchor points until they became memorized I'm upset for my child self that my teachers told me to basically snap out of it and just try harder and "we know you are capable of good grades when you want to because you are doing so well in these subjects" and even threatened to force me to repeat a year and therefor lose my friends if I didn't straighten out and try harder I cried over so many math homeworks and I know I never got any diagnosis of ADD or dyscalculia in school age because I'm a lady and I grew up convinced I was an idiot I worked twice as hard for half the grade Now life makes so much more sense

I can't even add and subtract mentally properly I feel dumb I am good at other subjects but not very good at math I usually avoid shopping
