I want to go back to work at a VA Hospital, so I left there as a RDA and Lord willing, go to school to become a CMA and apply for a Health Tech

One more thing! to pay for entering the CMA or Phleb field contact your local workforce office or WIOA funding provider You can get your certification for free if you're unemployed or underemployed (capped at $6k in program costs PA for example) In states like PA if you're on unemployment the office may have a grant that allows you to get any job training of any program cost covered completely for free which could include your RN nursing program!

if anyone watching this definitely wants to be an RN, go to an online or in person Associate of Nursing program so you can qualify to take the NCLEX-RN exam asap (about a year to 16 months) With only a few extra months, you can be the RN you wanted to be in the first place If you want to be a NP instead of an MD someday, go to a BSN program to qualify for the RN test Save yourself the time of becoming an MA/CMA first, do not go that route brbrBe an MA or Phleb because that's what you're interested in

For me I like being a phlebotomist rather than MA Cuz as I been working as MA I felt that too much responsibility in one sitting I am more like a person who can focus on doing one thing rather than doing different things in 15 mins as MA

I’ve been an MA for many years and just last year went for my phlebotomy license I figured I might as well have it since I’ve been drawing blood all these years! Plus it’s great to have an extra certification on your resume

For anyone who wants the the best of both worlds, you can become what's called a Lab MA That is my actual job title I'm 95 in charge of the lab at my office, but can, and will fill in when the MAs are on vacay or out sick I absolutely love my job I have ways loved drawing blood, and also keeping up with what MAs do This is definitely a perfect fit for someone who may want to do both 👍

I started in school to be a phlebotomist My last day in clinicals Every patient I had was either combative for rude My preceptor told me to stay in school I graduated as a MLT May 15th I LOVE helping patients without patient contact
