Excellent lecture brbrThe Eurocentrism and the Eccentric view in the decoding the history of the world are different perspectivesbrThe American history dates back and back as calculating the 1779 CE as it goes back to the European colonization and its discovery and as well as the pre discovery of the American continentbrThe AP tests are organized to depict the histories of different origins and the people to Orientalizebr"The Earth and it's people" book by Richard Bulleit Orientalizes the view and perspectives of world historybrThere are views involved in detecting the sources of historybrPre-History which is unwritten and can be calculated by the Carbon dating method from the Carbon 15 isotope and as well as the Nitrogen 15brThe scientific research is another perspective where they traveled to research the origins of history by scientific methods (Archeological evidence, Anthropological chronology of human evolvement)brThe domestication of animals and the cultivation of the Barley and Wheat as the significant relationshipbrThere is a chronological defect in detecting which began firstbrUnwritten history dates from Human evolvement 8000 BCE to the Civilization period began (2000 BCE)brThe civilization not only began in middle east (Mesopotamia) but also other western parts of the world Comment from : Mohammed Sajid |
|
It’s very interesting to see this perspective on the development of history education As a graduate of public education, I was (as do many still) subject to a very muddled education With social teachers still having the vast majority of responsibilities in regards to history Not to mention the complete lack of education in regards to anything other than the Europe-centrist model brps I only graduated a few years ago! Comment from : Grant Opithecus |

Hello let me introduce myself brI am a 14 year old who Is in love with History but the schools system refuses to teach it to meLet me explain they will not teach us World History until 10th grade And I am in 8th grade Have learned all there is to know about American history but nothing about world history We will also only learn world history for 2 years2 Years to cover literally everything that has happened in the world until nowI HATE thatI really want to learn about world history and this outraged me to know that we will learn about the world for such a short timeTherefor i would like to thank Columbia University for posting this playlist so I ca really take the world in, and not how the public schools do it Comment from : (Insert name) |

I only had the money to go to a second tier (as he calls them) state university, and had to work my way through it over five years, but it's nice of Columbia to let us members of the hoi polloi view this Of course, educating the plebs might be dangerous in the long run Comment from : Lou Cadle |

"The Camel and the Wheel" by Richard BullietbrbrThis is a wonderful insight into the ancient world of the desert of heat & dust of travel in North Africa, and into why the camel was preferred to horse-drawn carts Many histories give information Thus gives much more brIt is illustrated with drawings as well as photos, of ancient carts used in warfare, for example, as well as of different camels A lovely read! |
What the professor is ignoring is the fact that there are not, and have not been, history courses motivated only by "intellectual interest or vision" Courses centered on US or Europe are in fact politically motivated and that's why they have been taught like that for so long That's after all the hegemony of Europe and the US in world history for the last 500 years and that is recently being challenged Comment from : _AtA_ |

Im here because I’m in AP United States History Are you supposed to teach yourself in the course, in AP Courses and in college? Because my class is given slides that need to be completed after a week and we are told to read the textbook by ourselves and take notes I’m not used to this at all because prior to being enrolled in this course I was in Global History I (in-person) and 2 (online), when learning in-person we would read the textbook in class and complete the work in class, and we were given slides to copy down the notes I’m not used to taking notes by myself and doing everything by myself, since the pandemic began I’ve lacked motivation and focus and I’m honestly really stressed out with school please answer my questions and help Comment from : j4yla |
