Handy men The demise of real contractors Think I'll just get rid of my contractors licenses and not pay all the insurance, contractors license fees, the 800 bucks every renewal for all the shit contractors that were handy men before they got their contractors license that will go belly up soon because all the rules for contractors don't apply to a handyman They usually don't pull permits because they are working our of their classification What a shit show The handyman guys with one tenth of my experience are making more money than me Comment from : ALIENS ARE REAL |

Ive never understood some of these people and their dogs Why don't they put them up when they have company I hear all the time "my dog doesnt bite" why the hell do you have a dog if it doesnt watch out and protect you? Its very rude when they walk them too and let them urinate all over other peoples property Most people are rude I guess and selfish Comment from : Doubledragon |

Honestly, we had a good handyman and he charged $75/per hour He has had some health issues and is no longer working It was a giant pain in the butt to find him So $125 an hour isn't a stretch for a really good handyman But this doesn't mean you are making that much because you need insurance, licensing, and bonds if you are doing it legit Comment from : forthelulz |

$1000 a day don’t cut it when 415 percent in state and fed tax cuts your income in half Less you 300$ cost to acquire the customer less $100 gas , and taking cards We Al know handymen only take cash That’s the secret Professional tradesmen get paid double but we pay for UKRAIN, and all the other garbage we Americans get ripped off for Handyman usually get the people that don’t want to spend for a professional and they pay these handyman guys all day in cash Comment from : Rich K |

Though I like your video sharing, I despised you laughing at the man for not fixing the smoke alarm himself Believe it or not, there are more accidents in falling off ladders on seniors that it is with traffic accidents As we grow older, one fall could end it all If I had the money and my body is no longer as good as it once was (balance issues) I would be happy to pay someone to do the tasks for me brbrYes, he is making $1,000 bucks a day, but keep in mind, he uses his vehicle(s), his tools, tools, fuel and vehicle maintenance costs money, he is probably license and bonded (which costs money) business license costs money, book keeping costs time and money, he pays for his health insurance and or his employees health and dental, all and all his take home probably comes down to $200-$400 per day Not far from people whom are employed with a company When you have a business, often times you still have to work after 8 hours, at the minimum, he works 10 hours at max of 16 hours Running a business is not for the faint of heart and not everyone will make it through in 5 years He makes these videos with catchy titles for you to click, yes it is entertaining and he'll make more money off of it Not everyone can do what he does and as entertaining as he is on youtube, so don't quit your job and do a handyman business because he is making it hand over fist just enjoy watching what he does Comment from : DIYandGARDENING |

Been an amateur handyman for roughly 7 years and will never forget one of the “too good to be true jobs” I did oncebr Lady calls up my boss and I be asks if we can modify a beautiful Ethan Allen dresser to have the “shabby chique” look Mystified, we ask her to explain as neither my boss who’s done virtually every job known to man for 20 years nor I have ever heard of thisbr She shows us some pictures and it essentially equates to, no joke, sanding off and defacing perfectly good furniture to give it a rough and tumble antique lookbr Cut forward to an hour later after I’ve destroyed an expensive dresser with nothing but a 1$ sheet of sand paper, and the owner returnsbr She’s ecstatic and can’t say enough good things about how gorgeous her now beat to hell looking dresser looks and tips out the nose as well as the hourly rate of close to $100br Nearly $200 to destroy a perfectly good dresser with nothing but half a scrap of 100 grit sandpaper Him and I still laugh about it til this day Comment from : James Smith |

@The Handyman brbrI know this is a shot in the dark, due to your level of engagement probably rendering this comment invisible, but I have some questions I am 31, and have struggled to narrow down a career path This has led to an overall feeling of purposelessness An easily understood list of problems has arisen from this overall feeling brbrI love any type of work I’ve done on my own vehicle, I’ve worked in a few cabinet shops, and find the type of work very fulfilling brbrMy main question is, how did you manage to gather all of the necessary experience needed to handle the wide array of tasks you complete? brbrIf I had somebody give me a chance, I know I could learn all of these skills very quickly, but problem is - I have no idea where to start With some purpose and direction, I know life could look up Things need to change, and soon brbrIf you see this, thank you for reading Comment from : bluelodge |

Doing my own work has saved me a lot of money over the years Unfortunately, when I've hired help, I have generally been disappointed by most for their lack of integrity and quality of work I do not look forward to the day when I can't physically do things myself and have to rely on a contractor Comment from : Scott Martin |

The fsct that people actually think thays worth a 1000 a day means they must be useless cidiotsbrbrLol after watching I confirm he does not make $1000 a day when you run a business and drive around like this guy does there are expenses which severely cut down what you actually make and dont forget about income tax brbrWow that 1000 turned into 250 pretty fast, didn't it? Comment from : Rory Gillmore |

|
Its a good gig because of the variety/not going to same office/people everyday But you gotta deal with multiple different personalities, people who can "do it themselves but", women who need a "honey do" person and a man, get in between couples where something wasn't done by one or the other so they called you, and people looking over your shoulder and causing static hassling you about exact hours when you drive around wasting gas etc for parts on your time Charge by the job not by hour Comment from : myradioon |
