I use a savings account and don’t think it’s outdated, but I don’t use it to make money That’s what my retirement funds are for Yeah, I could try and play the market but am risk adverse with the understanding of the loss at potential gains I’m fine with it My savings account is there for monies in case of emergency with easy access Also as a place to save for an upcoming expense like home repair where I can just transfer over and cut a check It has its uses

Ally bank is giving nearly 4 rn on savings accounts while banks are not very trustworthy it can definitely be part of your tool belt especially during the bear market it’s basically liquid bonds at this point in time while 4 is less than inflation rn crypto and stocks are most of my money the money I intend to save for something that I can’t afford to invest because they may fall short term I stick that in a savings account it’s kinda nutty the things you can do play your cards right and you can straight up stick enough money in one to pay one of your bills perpetually and boom you have more money to invest
