that is not a dueling rapier, but is the fencing version of a smallsword, which would in functional terms be a court sword this sort of sword would be anachronistic in "the sea hawk", as court swords did not really appear until the late 1600s, well after elizabeth's time it is also a common misconception that such a "thin" sword would be snapped/broken by heavier swords, such as a sabre both swords are about equal in weight, with most ship cutlasses only a few ounces heavier than the rapiers that would have been used in elizabethan times, or lighter, depending upon the length of the rapier involved

As to Blackbeard's age, they said in the movie that he had "had his head cut off and his body thrown to sea where it swam around the ship 3 times before coming back aboard," like the legend of his death in history, but the film Blackbeard had somehow reconnected his head to his body and started to live again
