90 premiums have a long way to go before they get down to $5 over spot Checking just now (8/10/23), 90 is running $10 per ounce ($140 FV) over spot I'm not sure 90 will ever again get as much metal per dollar as bars & rounds, and almost certainly will carry a higher premium than even government minted bullion coins from now on The days of 90 US coinage giving the most bang for the buck are permanently over

I disagree Yes, premiums on ASEs might continue to drop a bit more, but the ability to buy them for under $30 is too good a deal to pass up Heck, some online sites are BUYING Eagles for nearly that I'm loading UP at these prices!

I think your wrong here, just bought a bunch of ASE rolls for $580 and I’ve done this twice this year Once when spot was low I was able to trade those rolls for gold at $720 a roll There’s spot and premium play here with eagles Not just spot with rounds …

I started buying silver in 2015 and from what I remember premiums were pretty steady at about 10 over spot for rounds and 20 for eagles between 2015-2019 This is about where we are now so IMO this about the lowest the spread will be

Maybe just wait until about 4 over spot I think 350 would be perfect but that is still a lot you can get 100 ounce bars 150 over spot but 350 over for a eagle would be reasonable because sometime over next few years things will get screwed up again, and they will be back to making only 700,000 a month outside of January again and you may have another window of time to sell them at 10 over spot again

I dont own any type 2 eagles only type 1's and the price of both of them are still at the equivalent of $45 usd but i paid $31 usd for all mine here in New Zealand, they were not new but they were uncirculated obviously

It's also my understanding that there's one retailer who's selling eagles at break even prices (for them) to get their name out there As what direction the mint is going to go I think that no one can take the pulse of the US Mint at this point You could put a chimp in charge of the mint and it would be run with greater efficiency than it has been in recent years

I'm still not stacking these heavily I've been lucky to buy them at $30 a coin (grabbed a couple tubed over the last year) from a private seller letting me have them at that price (this was when others silver was selling for over $30/ounce as well and eagles were over $40 So, think I did well there, but they'd have to come down more for me to really buy in heavily

I found a good deal on 90and actually picked up another $20 FV in Washington Quarters for only $329 over spot (at Monument Metals)so I took advantage of their low premiums on their junk silverwhich is rare for junk aka 90 Constitutional Silver to get for less than $799 over spotI've seen them at $999 over spot for premiumsthey're just like the American Silver Eaglesway too high for the average person

Yep I also prefer the Type 1 design but own a few Type 2 Stacking key dates and dip opportunities on Type 1 Some of them skate by at auction for cheap relative to premiums at dealers That '96 is really nice

I worked in an ice-cream shop back in the late 70's and when traffic was slow, I used to comb through the register change and occasionally came up with some good stuff A fair share of junk silver, a buffalo nickle here and there, wheat pennies a lot My favorite find was a 1901 Indian Head penny in VF condition No scuffs or nicks, just lightly circulated condition brIn today's mostly cashless society, I never hear of people looking at change anymore A couple of weeks ago, I came across a generic wheat penny and was kind of excited about it Chucked it in with my pile of over 500 It wasn't anything special, just thought it was cool that a wheat penny from 1951 was still roaming about the country
