I have both Swedish and German ancestry and wonder if its more of a personality trait to not be prideful and be humble rather than a cultural matter Although ive never lived there it doesn't seem like theres much to do and the winters are too long Good that Swedes take a vitamin D supplement

i’m from the midwestern US and everything i see and hear about sweden sounds like heaven to me i love winter, i am extremely introverted and i can’t help but love the idea of having any form of healthcare for less than the price of my kidney every month

You are speaking from my heart I have lived in many megapolises in Europe, Canada, and USA, and ended up living in the USA (regretfully) My dream, as a single mom, is to save my son from the failing/devalued US and Sweden was my country of choice Yet, little did I know that on top of other credentials that I give to Sweden, the Swedish people reject the braggers It's a fresh air to my lungs Here, in the USA, it is common to show "confidence," to overwhelm the room with a pompous self-intro (even when the facts are suggesting the opposite) I hate it

I am from samerica The weather/ climate / whatever it does not matter Most of people are kind nice, really good people!!-- But also there is an overrepresentation of people that have weird social behaviors ( maybe not weird in sweden) For example some people that you know from your work, speak with them on daily basis every day, when you meet them outside the work lets say shoping market or on the street they dont say even hello But on the other hand people that you dont know, say hello to you I found it totally confusing Some swedes like to compare to others to auto validate theirselves So if some come to visit you It can be because he/she likes you or because he/she is just curious how you have it and break the contact the very next day Maybe thats the reason its seldom "they" invite you to their home Happened to me too many times to be just random

In Ontario, (aside from restaurants, breweries, wineries) we can only buy alcohol from the LCBO which is also the government owned stores Only recently, you can buy wine and beer from supermarkets
