I put this on a 22 rifle that my girlfriend likes to use It’s not the highest quality or the most accurate but it’s simple, cheap, and fun to use Comment from : @eliset7512 |
I always like the simplicity of your reviews and I have been watching your 6mm ARC work for the past year I am building a 16" 6mm ARC rifle and I am trying not to build a bench rest rifle So, I'm looking for a 600 yard and in ffp scope with a xmas tree rec and resettable zero stop & under 25 oz I have plenty of chunky boyz set-ups PLEASE SOME ADVISE OR NOTBUZZ Comment from : @johnd843 |

Sub point I think some scones come darker lensed for more Hunter, soldier and sniper types I always worry about glare and glints so I have lens dim film on mine for when I’m in motion Comment from : @steeldriver8577 |
So, 1600 for the rifle, 1200 for the chassis, and 1000 for the scope? Looks like that'll be a several year undertaking (Deffy buying rifle first, along with a can or two of M80) Comment from : @maniacalcoyote6087 |
Seems like an honest video! Thank you Comment from : @pete-mz9vr |
For an all round scope for hunting and also longer distance target shooting (800-1000 yards), what magnification range would you recommend? Comment from : @axxiom20001 |

Interesting that while you're saying they have perfect tracking you show a Target that shows imperfect tracking Comment from : @kevingeary1472 |
You need to list them in the description Comment from : @Mj-CWO4 |
BURRIS XTR II glass is clearer than the Vortex all day long Comment from : @6speedsti241 |

The sightron SIII will blow them all away Comment from : @chief1193 |
Wish you would have included zeiss in thisalso wish they made pst in non-illumination to save weight Thank you for the low down Buying a scope Christmas Comment from : @anthonymurphy2540 |
You're being to good to Vortex my PST-2 you can barely turn the paralax & you surely need a throw lever to zoom in and out and its still slow and hard the NF is the clear winner I will never buy another Vortex after getting the run around from the warranty department Comment from : @ryanoros9562 |
Great video, got anything newer? Comment from : @tar6805 |
great coverage I have the Burris and agree with your conclusion Comment from : @shootersresourcechannel642 |

Great video Please check out the Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25x56 Comment from : @bigcountrygunguy6818 |
Only thing you should change is please add links to scopes in description Possibly add a personal link to earn extra revenue to help your channel Good video Comment from : @brandonstone8739 |
Nikon was made in Philippines Japanese glass all ways seams to have better light transmission Other down side is the zero stop is plastic It will break if your not careful That being said it is a good scope for the price Comment from : @p47rr |
Hands down the most valuable scope review on the internet This is basically a breakdown of four of the scopes I was looking at I was already leaning towards the vortex but now I’m definitely grabbing it Comment from : @MickDaFish |
Would you recommend getting the Sig Sauer 25- 8X32mm or the Sig sauer 45-14x44mm or my other option is the vortex tactical 16X44 don’t know to much about scopes but building a long range muzzle loader! Comment from : @rendendye8741 |
The nikon is discontinued as is all of Nikons scopes moving forward Bummer! Comment from : @brianhardy1812 |
Guys even cheap rifles are shooting 1 moa and less tbh your better off going 500 on the rifle 1000 on the scope if you want to shoot long range but my recommendation is 1k for the scope and 1k for the rifle not including any other accessories you might get the improvement beyond that is only useful to the top 1/100th of 1percent of shooters Comment from : @masterofthought6395 |
Fantastic review, comment of the year "If a man has to read the instruction manual to use it, he's not going to be happy," lol Comment from : @jp4541 |

Vortex quality has gone to shit lately We have had 5 scopes that we sent back several times under warranty, still had issues Primarily with the turrets not staying calibrated and drifting out of spec Not acceptable for precision shooting matches Have several friends and know many PRS shooters who've had so many issues with Vortex optics that many are moving away from them brI've tried hundreds of scopes from dozens of manufacturers over the years Of all the recent ones I've used, my favorites in the $1000 range for scope, rings/mount are the Element Titan, US Optics TS-25X, Athlon Ares Also my $400 Arken SH4 Gen 2 has outperformed the Vortex Viper that is more than $1000 Comment from : @davelaneve2446 |
Just picked up 2 nikon black fx 4x16's for $1000 Really excited Comment from : @trailertrashtactics |
I use a Burris Veracity SCR 5-25 scope on one of my rifles The glass is on par with a Viper PST Im surprised the XTR was so bad Comment from : @13Recon19D |
I think you got the FFP and SFP definitions mixed up Comment from : @marcusfunk2618 |
I just bought a Vortex 5-25x56 mRAD 14mm tube 15 Zeiss rings for my POF-308 20" barrel and I am happy with my purchase On the flip caps, you need to remember to buy slightly less in size of the reticle hence, 56mm would be the 50mm flip cap and the 44mm rear would be the 40mm flip cap Many people complain that the caps are loose because they buy the same size There is a size chart online that you can go by to figure it out Comment from : @netsurfers9357 |
What is your opinion on the crimson trace sca-2624? Thanks Comment from : @kevinarndt3316 |
Picked up the Burris XTR II 5-25x50 open box for $72500 Not upset at all! Comment from : @MagicPrepper |
Isn't the sig tango scope more of a "tactical" scope? Maybe that's why the turrets are a bit busy Comment from : @monocogenit1 |
These five Best scallops could they hold up On a 338 savage B A 110 Rifle Comment from : @billyhenderson1911 |
Nikon Black scope cost me close to 200 rounds before I deemed it was faulty Lifetime warranty sucked too as they wanted to issue credit to online store This was after I had to ship (and insure) to New York because Los Angeles repair office closed due to Covid They no longer make rifle scopes either Finally issued check for purchase price I will never entertain another purchase from Nikon Comment from : @michaelwilliamson4413 |
Okay Joel, you did a fantastic job on this video Clear, concise, and logical I'm 77 years old and appreciate you NOT wasting my time Stay Safe! Comment from : @johnneubauer9568 |
Hi Joel I just got a Nikon Fx1000, 4-24 I am having bad problems with the reticle “bleeding” when the illumination is on I don’t have great eyes, but with glasses I am good to go But regardless the bleed is there at level 11, 10 and a small amount at 9 Did yours do this? Thanks a lot for any feedback Cheers Comment from : @freeandcriticalthinker4431 |
Does the bullets I use make the difference in my shooting aiming with a scope Comment from : @samyza2005 |
Great review Thank you Comment from : @240fxst |

None of these would even make my top 5 list, maybe the Viper gen ii and Burris Comment from : @hmoobshow2482 |
100 true about the tango 4 and scope shadow! Little unhappy with mine 4 that ! But did get a killer deal 50 off and 10 off first time buyer from optics planet ! Comment from : @jackmyers6040 |
Slight misinformation here elevation ranges quoted for the scopes is total adjustment from bottom to top Once zeroed You'll have approximately half of that to dial up, maybe some more if you use a canted base So the distances he quoted are not what you will be able to actually achieve unless incorporating reticle hold overs + dialing Comment from : @julienpetros945 |
Country of manufacture is important to me Comment from : @MrOlgrumpy |
Great review, names/links of each scope in the definition would be helpful Comment from : @joemorphew8244 |
I've seen multiple reviews that say the Burris xtr II has clearer glass than the vortex PST gen II You must have gotten a fluked burris Comment from : @andrewrussell2513 |
Men actually do read manuals its just on the toilet that it's done Comment from : @theram8787 |

Burris xtr II FTW!!! Comment from : @shyecjj |
The Vortex viper pst gen2 5-25x50 has a 34 eye relief, is this true? Is this an issue or should brI look for something that has at least 39 eye relief? Comment from : @jimsilva7271 |
No leupold 3i lrp? Really? That scope is exactly $99999 and like all Leopold scopes has an outstanding glass clarity, Way better than vortex Oh, and a lot lighter in weight Comment from : @tubero37 |
No Arken? No Athlon? No SWFA? No Tract? But you have Nikon on this list? LOL I just UNSUBSCRIBED Comment from : @alphasolutions2325 |
Meopta Optika6? Comment from : @swatbwana |
👍👍 Comment from : @ricardobernal8840 |
That you did tall target tests for these scopes shows the seriousness of the review Thanks brI'd rate the Bushnell ELITE LRTS 45 - 18 x 44 with G3 illuminated reticle ($980 street price) DEFINITELY above the Burris and the now out-of-production Nikon The LRTS has FFP, mil/mil, side focus and G3 illuminated reticle In fact my G3 "Xmas tree" reticle is ENTIRELY ILLUMINATED, unlike the Vortex Xmas tree reticle I'll never again shoot long distance without a Xmas tree reticle I don't like dialing, especially for hunting W/O a Xmas tree reticle you often need "Kentucky windage" IF you don't have time to dial Comment from : @ericb4358 |
all the scopes in the video don't have illumitation is it useless? i always bought illumination model only if you don't mind, let me know :) Comment from : @lynn9550 |
1000 dollars for an optic No thank you Its always funny how people loose sight of value and practicality, for fancy What benefit does fancy offer you, other than stroking your ego My ego doesn't need stroking I have one thing on me that needs stroking, and my wife takes care of that quite well The fact is The vast majority of shooters do not need optics in this price category My most expensive scope is my Vortex Viper HST 18" plate at 1200 yards with it! No problem What need do I have for more I know there is always the guy that says "well you are just hating because you cant afford it" Well I can assure anyone and everyone thats not the case Its all about value for me My grandfather always said "Son it is a fool that builds a shed with 100 dollar hammer, while a skilled man builds a house with a 25 dollar hammer" I live by that to this day Comment from : @diversify210 |
The Steiner P4XI 4-16 x 56mm should've been on your list Comment from : @grantisnotmyname |
Got to agree with all the positive comments, great review, new to shooting and target shooting and the video was bang on 5 stars! Comment from : @tommydowning4463 |
Vortex PST Gen II 5-25×50 FFP is my favorite rifle scope Comment from : @shinoasada2216 |
Looks like you're using a Bergara B14 and looking at the barrel length I guess its a 308? At what distance was that head shot? Comment from : @micstica |
ThebrFuckbrButts 🤷🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ Comment from : @nonyabuisness |
I have the viper I love it! Comment from : @silenthunter5312 |
The one thing I really hate about Burris rifle scopes is the image you see is always more yellow or grey compared to the image from similar scopes of a competitor I own and use high-end Nikon, Leupold, Sightron, NF and Vortex scopes and only Burris has this yellow / grey image issue Comment from : @F15ElectricEagle |
No such thing as a 45-15 shv Comment from : @dylanm1749 |
How stupid you have to be to buy a scope for a thousand dollars would have been a video worth watching Comment from : @evilzarmy1 |
Our factory's sights are also very cost-effective Comment from : @jennychen7367 |
