i really like heathrow airport, the way terminal 2 and 5 are build is just superior to other airports it is very clean, there is more service staff around than in any other airport + it is very very well organized

@seandobson499
As a none smoking, teetotal celiac, mostly, I buy nothing at any airport, the cost of flying and, in my case, the cost of taxis to and from the airport is more than enough as it is and unless I wanted to end up in hospital and not on a plane, I have to take my own gluten-free food with me, do not drink coffee and almost all alcohol has gluten in it anyway
Comment from : @seandobson499

@iakobmtchedlishvili1595
I can assure you that airlines and airports don't just make money, basically they lose tons of dollars, they are just politically incentivized for other reasons to create a multiplier economic effect on other fields
Comment from : @iakobmtchedlishvili1595

@JayTee2985

@MBihon2000
Detroit Metro Airport (McNamara and Evans terminal) are under utilized Since the last decade built and renovated expecting new foreign and local airlines to use, but it failed Only Delta, Spirit enjoys the low traffic and open gates to both terminals Although, Detroit airport is less congested than O'Hare's Chicago, still no new airlines is attracted to make Detroit as a new gateway in the midwest
Comment from : @MBihon2000

@Crescent-IV

@TheDavidlloydjones
I have trouble keep YouTube's statistical measures straightbrCould somebody tell me how the budget of Swaziland, used in measuring Heathrow's economy, converts into elephants standing on a fingernail, apparently a standard YouTube measure of pressure?

@jamesau4296
Overall, airports are now shopping malls with runways
Comment from : @jamesau4296

@butterflysrage
that BS with not showing the gate until right before the flight is why I refuse to fly through Heathrow I'll gladly pay a bit more to connect through Frankfurt, Munich, Amsterdam, even Paris before I'll use Heathrow
Comment from : @butterflysrage

@capoa2852
It now costs £5 to drop someone off at Heathrow ffs
Comment from : @capoa2852

@JohnVanderbeck
Surely this is an abstraction right? I would imagine there are a lot more individual charges, such as for fuel and other services
Comment from : @JohnVanderbeck

@eneakote3537
That Heathrow logo looks like a 5$ logo from Fiver 🤣
Comment from : @eneakote3537

Comment from : @Fochfilms

@samuelatienzo4627
A small quantity of the molecule H2O costs $500 a bottle biggest scam on planet Earth
Comment from : @samuelatienzo4627

@Artyomthewalrus
It's wild to me that it connects to so many UK airports It's such a small nation, one would think that buses or trains would make more sense than flying within the nation
Comment from : @Artyomthewalrus

@maxwell-gg8fr
In Kenya we make losses 😂
Comment from : @maxwell-gg8fr

@joshsvoss
Wonderful video
Comment from : @joshsvoss

@joshsvoss
Interesting to see the airplane and Jet Bridge going down over time at 7:54, that must be because the airplane is being refueled right? As the weight increases it compresses the landing gear and thus the Jet Bridge has to be lowered to match it? Just a theory
Comment from : @joshsvoss

@rheijm9201
Says who? Lelystad Netherland 10 millions loss per year Berlinwhich one the unused one or the otherbutayway, don t ask Make money? Nobody has this opinionever
Comment from : @rheijm9201

Even India has a lot of airports that are run on a public private partnership basis
Comment from : @madhavanpari6316

@KellieSuttle
"Governments charge less than it costs them to run the airport"br"Proponents of privatization say it will lead to lower costs"brHmmm 🤔
Comment from : @KellieSuttle

@lilyofshalott
I think the existence of small airports is also far more important in the US, where rail is not as widespread or useable, and the contiguous nature can't encourage air strips in the more remote locations as easily as in uk Consider how prevalent small craft are in Alaska, or the near impossibility of leaving Gander, Newfoundland except by air Without the quick access option of ajrcraft, more remote towns (which are also far more prevalent in the us than Europe, especially out west) would be deadly or would starve, let alone the lack of economic opportunity they would have
Comment from : @lilyofshalott

@Turgineer
1:14 Wow, running an airport is expensive So that's why even the simplest products are much more expensive than normal in airport markets
Comment from : @Turgineer

@ghengiskhan2331
The british have been always creating problems they did and not good politicians this does not apply to the regular British
Comment from : @ghengiskhan2331

@moge9498
I don't think many people in the UK are really that interested in domestic flights, far easier (and greener) to take just take a train or drive, it's a tiny country
Comment from : @moge9498

@bonbonS1969
7:32 Wendover is such a content farm Comparing UK domestic destination to China? Really? China is 40 times the size of UK Get a grip

@bandzdmv

Comment from : @bandzdmv

@jcs3330
If you look at the breakdown on your air ticket receipt (ie British Airways) you will see that the airline fare itself, after all air and ground taxes have been deducted is quite small in relation the 'face value' of the paid ticketbrIt has always been a well known fact that airport retail sales are the profit makers for most airports
Comment from : @jcs3330

@Armin-qm3uz
Yeah, great! Make profitable airports private so the profit goes to individuals but smaller nonprofitable ones public so the cost is paid by tax-payers An example of privatizing profits, but socializing costs This is capitalism for you, my friend!
Comment from : @Armin-qm3uz

@winterbelle03
my citys airport is one of few cargo-focused airports and its awesome i can arrive at the airport 30 mins before my flight and still have time to spare no line for tsa, never crowded always smooth and easy because theres just not a lot of passenger flights
Comment from : @winterbelle03

@devilcity5827
By overcharging for Parking, and pay workers minimum wages
Comment from : @devilcity5827

@callumhunt1348
What makes you think uk passengers want to fly internally? It’s kind of taboo to fly from Manchester to Edinburgh, the uk news heavily criticised Boros Johnson for flying from London to Cornwall It’s quite a small country and internal flights when you take getting to the airport, going through security and waiting for your flight, it ends up being as fast as the train But trains are so much easier
Comment from : @callumhunt1348

@Silverfoxwolfen
Yeah about the connection thing to UK airports Anyone flying from Heathrow to City would be nuts The domestic rail network offers a better experience in terms of not having to go through security delays, arrive hours before your departure or the like It's about convenience
Comment from : @Silverfoxwolfen

@eightysevenmoore
This is called “Nikled-and-Dimed” How about you focus on streamlining the primary service and creating an actual worth while product instead of trying to screw customersbrbrAirline technology/service seriously needs to be a thing of the past… it’s pathetic
Comment from : @eightysevenmoore

@James-avation
you also get charged for droping people of right at the entrance it is 5 pounds because i did it before
Comment from : @James-avation

@geonerd
I fly fairly frequently, and usually have a 13 hour layover in Las Vegas or Denver I would gladly buy a nice lunch, souvenirs, etc, IF the prices were even remotely reasonable But they aren't I look around, see the obscene gouge for what it is, and 'clam up' immediately
Comment from : @geonerd

@CodAddict324
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Comment from : @CodAddict324

@randomotter6346
8:00 note that London has 6 airports surrounding it If you want to travel to a destination on a smaller plane, Gatwick airport is likely a better bet, and there is also London city or Luton for more destinations There are even more further out
Comment from : @randomotter6346

@michaelthong598
Everything is money
Comment from : @michaelthong598

@garethtan7053
There's Ryanair services to London Stansted from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin, East Midlands, Birmingham, Liverpool, and Manchester Although I highly doubt a Ryanair flight (including their outrageous luggage costs) plus the taxi from Stansted to Heathrow costs any less than a KLM flight through Amsterdam
Comment from : @garethtan7053

@KeemBeckford
Hmmm, the more you know lol
Comment from : @KeemBeckford

@sarankarthikparthiban9006
Very detailed information Thanks
Comment from : @sarankarthikparthiban9006

@ultraninja5783
7:31 I mean, no sane man would go and take a plane in the UK to another airport when we can just go and get a train for a fraction of a fraction of the cost
Comment from : @ultraninja5783

@Emi_LDA
CDG Airport is a public airport but is one of the best for passenger services and one of the busiest, but it makes a lot of money 🤨

Comment from : @hijodeputa5450

@TacomanDezzy
Probably the REAL reason why they make you throw all your drinks away before going through security They want you to buy sodas, water, and coffee at their stores
Comment from : @TacomanDezzy

@adro894
My city's airport makes $120 million per year just from parking There is no train service from the city only a special overpriced bus When we had lockdowns during the worst of Covid the airport asked the government for a financial bailout and got it 😒 Privatization does not work
Comment from : @adro894

@maxanthony84
@1:15 You're telling me the average salary in LHR is £60,99380?
