This is a very well put together videobrMainly analysing Life as an Expat, through her experience in ItalybrShe doesn't try to diss Italy!brShe only takes Italy as an example to point out Expat Life Inconveniences and ChallengesbrThat's useful for people who consider a move abroad, regardless of country!brIt's food for thought brSharing experiences is important, no matter if those come across as positive or negative They create argument, and argument is so much needed to keep the brain healthy by challenging your thinking and decision makingbrSo whoever is narrow-minded enough to not get that, can respectfully FO brYou need to wake up and get out of the box you are stuck inside Learn to think out of the box or remain stuck forever inside the box like a JackbrIf you ever have the balls to become expat, you will understand what she is trying to saybrLet's see for how long you will survive itbrItaly is a great example to point out flaws, because it is considered a top destination, along with France brNo country is perfect and without flawsbrPerfect doesn't existbrAlso pride and silliness are in fact two terms with close relation Comment from : Theo Chi |
I lived there and I cried when I had to leave, I just lived it So what happened to you after this video, please tell us How are you? Comment from : Leona |

Happiness is what you love to do in your life Comment from : [NytcoreAnymore] |
It's one thing to say that you carry your inner demons everywhere and they don't disappear just because you relocate, but it's another to act like the environment you're in doesn't drastically affect your happiness and satisfaction It does People move and experience a great deal of satisfaction The false dichotomy of either being happy everywhere or being happy no where is among the most ridiculous things I've ever heard Always coming from people who grow up in the most prosperous countries where all the privileges they're used disappear into the background Try growing up in fucking Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan and tell me that happiness only comes from within Comment from : Ihsahn Åkerfeldt |
She keeps telling me I cant have the lifestyle I want And she doesnt even know how much money I have to spend Comment from : Rusted |

I've been to Italy and honestly I found it to be a very gloomy place It's old and dirty, the streets are stinky and smells like urine in many places you go, so many people are arrogant and racist, customer service sucks Italy is the most overrated country I've been to Comment from : Ramy S |
BOLOGNA Comment from : Riccardo Monari |
I hate Italy ( for living), I lived there 5 years and it was so miserable I suffer a lot of discrimination, racism, I was shocked, it was so difficult for me to adapt to the culture, even if I come from Mexico I moved there for my Italian ex Even if Italy is a beautiful country, delicious food, full of history I will never come back to living there, even if someone offers me the best job with the best salary, I will never accept it Comment from : Paulina Hdz |
First thing I won’t be as easy comfortable as you sitting on the edge of that metal fence how did u manage to do that ? Comment from : Namaste from north |

Half way through the video I gave up Ok Happiness comes from within I don't understand why some video makers find it so hard to get to the point Comment from : Jeanne du Sud |
Florence (where this girl is filming) is almost more filled with expats than Italians hahabrThe amount of Americans who move here with the mindset this video rightfully condems is insane Florence is now the second most expensive city in Italy after Milan, with the caveat that it doesn't have the salaries that you have in Milan And that's mainly because so many rich people from the US, UK and similar are moving there Comment from : Allie IsWell |
IMPORTANT NOTE: ITALY IS AN EXTREMELY VARIED COUNTRY You might not think so since it's so small, or you might not notice as a tourist, but life in different regions and even in different cities within the same region varies greatly The economy, the customs, public services available, the people All these things change drastically from one city to another and particularly from North to SouthbrbrBig generalization to give you an idea: the North is overall in a better economic situation You might find better public transport, but also higher prices In the very North, you might find customs are a bit similar to countries like France and GermanybrbrThe South on the other hand has a worse financial situation and therefore public services are not as well kept, but the weather is nicer, things are cheaper, street food is cheaper and better The people and culture in the South are more similar to other Mediterranean countries like Spain, Greece, and TurkeybrbrBut this is just a general thing, don't expect Milan to be like Bolzano just because they are both in the North lolbrbrThe only things that will be true everywhere you go in Italy: bureaucracy is a pain and food is good 😅 (esp if you try regional recipes that are not available in touristy spots) Comment from : Allie IsWell |
what a lost girl, talking about something she doesn't know at all, she should be therapist, they talk and gives answers knowing nothing about the people Comment from : Italo Donato |

I fell in love with Italy because of the people You are more friendly and more open to strangers than this country (USA) and I especially loved the Italian grandmothers , who adopted me in every village I went to I love people and it a blessing to find people that were like me I will return one day and I hope to be as happy as I was before ( 1981) thank you and have a beautiful day Ciao 🥰❤️ Comment from : Walter Edwards |
Thank you, you're correct that happiness does not come from our external world, but from other sources Being a better person is more important than being an immigrant And the cultural background together with the idea how to help the new home country are very important for a wise immigration Comment from : Artemius Zabelin |

She has a very good point, right out of the gate This applies not only about moving to Italy but in general moving to any place on earth It reminds me of the old saying: "wanting to move away from your problems, you take the problems with you, because you are the problem" Comment from : JLovera7723 |

Something important to always remember: wherever you go, there you are brbrI’m from the US doing my Master’s in Germany and I’m looking to apply for jobs in Rome after I finish (I have worked in the UN system and a few agencies are there) I’m trying to be realistic and not idealize anything, but I also think Italy improves upon what I don’t like about Germany (mostly gray and cold, people aren’t social or easy to meet, food can be bleh) Comment from : Holly Warner |

The video literally says “ITALY WON’T make you HAPPY” Comment from : Ana Anton |
You’ve spent almost half this video saying ‘Don’t move to Italy’ We get it People move where they feel right to be with their own reasons! Happiness is not one of them!!! That is something internal and unless one has made a special connection that evokes this happiness anywhere, going somewhere for happiness makes no sense to me For a lifestyle one likes, yes I’m not sure what the point of your video is Comment from : Amita’s Poetry |
What about the empty villages? Can you cover that? Comment from : peter1589 |
For salary earners having a passive source of income is the best thing you could have, because aside the fact that it isn't always enough you could lose your job any day at any time, having something to fall back to is crucial, for me it is trading the crypto and stock market and yes I didn't have that much knowledge to begin to earn that's why I said passive income, I leave the profit making to the pro like my Advisor 'Marcia Ann Bice ' , who has been doing a wonderful job Comment from : Dorian Jacobs |
Great video - would just like to point out that if you come from one of the US hot spots Italy comes at a fraction of the price When you are used to pay for $15M to buy a modest home, $6 for a pastry and $100 / month for internet, moving to Italy is very attractive It does allow you to accelerate your time to retirement if that is one of your goals Comment from : David V |
Thats because u are not happy, happines is a state of mind not a place! Comment from : Asafa Guidetti |

Sounds like she didn’t Bother to learn the language or adapt Comment from : Bruce the goose |
I guess it depends on the reason you want to move, personally I find the western countries exhausting and superficial There are no values placed on family and friends like the European countries and no one knows how to slow down and enjoy the simple things As in sitting down for a meal with family friends! Everything is big and new and everyone is trying to keep up Placing value on the wrong things 😢 Comment from : Lisa Robin |
The inner demons travelled with us always ;) it is totally different travelling as tourist or living in a country There are no perfect places ;) Comment from : Ana Freire |
My personal experience I lived in (South) Italy for a year 10 years ago, and a few other places since - currently UK I learnt Italian in high school so language wasn't that much of an issue I love my home (beautiful Budapest), but, man, that was the happiest year of my life - with all its difficulties - EVER Just in comparison, the UK is a miserable place, the location and the atmosphere matter more than you would think Comment from : Niphredyl |
4min in and I'm still getting a lecture on how to be happy with my inner self Comment from : Ryan Solomon |

THANK YOU brI am unsatisfied with Belgium, its weather and ugliness So I ponder settling in southern France or ItalybrBut you reminded me of the things one must consider, in addition to just the sun and art This is not a holiday It's my life! Comment from : Marcus Cactus |
It's a rather daring claim to suggest that everyone would feel like this Yes, Italy can be smelly, noisy, xenophobic, unruly obnoxious arrogant delinquents and criminal elements all around, with thoroughly unsafe roads, dangerous street life, and above all, where the government and its many official organizations are systematically corrupt, and where bureaucracy is without exceptions straight from hell's backside - I still find myself enjoying myself in Italy every time I spend there longer periods of time This is mostly because of cheap, yet excellent quality of food and drink, and generally affordable living costs But much of this depends on where in Italy you will spend your time There are areas, roads, streets, places, cities and municipalities in Italy I very very strongly recommend never-ever to go in to! I would avoid large cities like Naples, Rome, Venice, Geneva, Florence, Milan etc and choose to live or holiday in places where Italians themselves would choose to go I could recommend places like Tarquinia coast, just north of Rome, Bari in the south east Italian coast, Rieti and it's surrounding areas in the very heart and center of Italy Comment from : DrunkRubberDuck |
If Icecream makes you happy and you move to Italy for icecream it WILL make you happy Comment from : TDubya811 |
