Those Malaysians who complain about how expensive Malaysia is should really go out more I have lived in Malaysia, Cambodia, Nicaragua and Nigeria, I also have a home in Germany where I visit annually, and I travel a lot Let me tell you this Malaysia is by far, the cheapest country I’ve lived in, even by dollar to dollar comparison A lunch in Lagos, Nigeria cost me 500 Naira with a piece of chicken, rice, egg and soft drink That RM 10 A bowl of koeytiew in Phnom Penh cost me USD 3, thats RM 12 A lunch in a random comedor in Managua is about 80 Córdoba That’s like RM 10 Comparing al these countries, Malaysia has the highest GDP per capita and we still have the cheapest food The people in these 3 countries earn peanuts on the average yet food is so expensive In germany, an asian fried rice is 8 Euro, a glass of coke is 250 Euro A lunch for 3 easily cost 40 euro at the food court in the mall Each time I’m home I spend a lot on food and I keep telling Malaysians that most of us are unaware of how lucky we are to be born here Food is good, affordable and ubiquitous All, truly all, of my well travelled friends, foreign and local, share my views on this

As a Malaysian, I would like to give my opinion to everyonebrThe meal for your lunch has totally been cheated, it suppose to cost around Rm7, which is the same cost with your dinner in mamak (but of course Rm5 or 1 pound is nothing for you, but or us, Rm5 can give us another meal)brIf you would like to buy something in convenient store, don't go to 7 eleven store, there are 99 SPEEDMART and KK MART everywhere in whole peninsula Malaysia, and the price is 10-15 lower than 7 eleven While if you go to Borneo Islands, Sabah and Sarawak, you can't find 99 SPEEDMART and KK MART different region have different kind of convenient store brAnd almost all the price in Sabah and Sarawak are 15 higher than in peninsula, because all the things there are sent from peninsula and it have to include transportation feebrWelcome to Malaysia

Okay, so what I saw was really expensive, as a Malaysian living in kl And I would recommend this if anyone plans on going cheaper than 60 ringgit for a day's budget br1) Go to mamak with more locals, those r usually cheaper as they r not so 'touristy', usually breakfast shouldn't cause more than 5 for one person And lunch shouldn't cost more that 10 (try the drinks like Kopi or teh tarik or Milo, it's good :D, oh and don't buy plain water from stalls, usually they sell higher prices than convenience stores)br2) Transport usually people take grab and the mrt Mrt is better as most famous shopping malls have mrt stations And u can avoid jam br3) if u like nature places, we hv the kl bird park where I think u have to pay, but there is a park next to it called lake garden where u can go in there free U can jog, have picnics, take pictures blablabalbabr4) There isn't much u can do in kl to be honest, but there are many good food of many races, Malay Chinese Indian all got brIt's the time of puasa Now and Malays have bazaar every evening before latest 645 I think (I'm not too sure, Pls don't scold me ◐̃◐)brThat's all ⊙_⊙

i spend around 500ringgit for 5 days in KL, actually u dont have to rent in dorm style room, u can get ur own private room for around 40ringgit, just go google for hotels around petaling street, used some discount site like trivago
