I just went from a sortation center to AMXL at the ship dock It's so fucking chill We have to meet a scan rate of 20 because everything is heavy It's so easy to meet those goals Just push tip and slide You rarely ever have to lift My body now got used to it brbrA lot of people who transferred to AMXL said they love it way better than where they used to work at brbrI kind of suck at job hunting, which is why I still work at Amazon but so far it's a pretty decent experience for mebrbrMy favorite part is not having to work with customers directly That reduced my stress so much Tbh, I would rather do almost anything than deal with customers

I used to work at a Amazon warehouse in California When it came to the atmosphere it was chill but it’s definitely not for everyone and it’s such a grind as in repetitiveness Also there were some toxic workers who were just assh*les Surprisingly the mangers weren’t the worse I’ve had which is a surprisebrbrAlso a lot of workers would just smoke weed in the parking lot and outside benches during breaks and lunch which I found hilarious because it indicated that the security cameras was not working at all LolbrbrWhen I would pull into the parking lot in the early mornings to start my shift I would see bottles of alcohol scatter around the lot So we had workers who were intoxicated They hid their drunkness well to say the leastbrbrThe most weird shit is the pretend “happy workplace environment” they kept promoting and jamming down our throats which is ironic since I could tell a majority of workers were not happy there “but there’s bills that gotta be paid”attitude

In the 1950's US you could move out of your parents, rent a place and work an average job for about 4 years and have enough saved up to outright buy a house in full No mortgage it's your house 100 I feel like I have to emphasize that because everyone always says oh "I bought a house" when they didn't the bank bought it br brThe owner of this company makes enough after taxes that if he reduced his yearly income down to just a few million pure profit after all expenses he could make that dream come true for millions of employees It's his right to stack cash and just watch his bank number go up but its meaningless numbers for him he's not even using it br brBUT instead he decides to overwork his employees and put them in a cage They MIGHT be able to save up enough to buy a house when they're 60-70 years old when you factor in inflation and rising house costs they're essentially saving up to buy their own coffin

I work there currently My goals are far from unattainable In fact most people spend more time on their phone than actually working I enjoy the job myself but I am not someone kind of kiss ass I do my job and go home and have never even when injured on light duty have I ever fell anywhere near the line of not meeting quotas Anyway I just wanted to add that I will agree the pathetic break situation is a joke they literally give you the minimum legally allowed time for breaks which is an absolute joke As a note I’m a 46 year old made and I’m in the top 2 percent for productivity and quality If the people half my age gave an effort instead of wasting time flirting and being on their social media the goals should be easily maintained brDisclaimer I don’t fully support Amazon as a whole but the idea that expectations are too high is in my opinion not true if you actually work during your shift
