Hopefully she gets it because it is scary that this has been her technique for so long I truly believe that those who grew up heavily riding bicycles have a much better skill level for a lifetime of riding If it was only occasional or not at all i would never suggest for them to ride or always be fearful of their inevitable injuries if their need to ride persist Not to say they cant learn but the road will be long and hard, i would have a hard time watching

A good trick to help people, is to get on THEIR BIKE, and show them it can be done easily, it instills confidence in their bike, which leads to confidence in themselves

I have an Indian scout They are low to the ground, you will scrap pegs in turns on occasion I get her fear, if she took a quick turn and it kicked back at her she prob freaked out

This happened to me on a 100cc scooter lol I was scared to lean it to far on a tight bend and was going to fast to slow and so instead ended up hitting the curb and just going straight on over the pavement and across a yard I can only imagine it on a large motorcycle

In my early 20s I used to ride my friends sport bike I was scared to lean to the right I was less scared of leaning left I attribute this to my years of skating and racing on skates All we did was turn left lol I was scared to death to lean to the right on a motorcycle Fast forward many years and this past January my wife and I rented a scooter in Key West and before we even rode it I was nervous about leaning to the right Since it was so small I became accustomed to it very quickly and didn’t have an issue leaning to the right while at speed The less I thought about it and the more I looked where I was going The more confident I was Maybe she needs a smaller bike and work her way back up to the bigger bike

I understand what you were trying to teach her, but it takes more skill to ride at slow speeds without stopping or putting your feet down that fast and do a swerve to avoid, so you've got to give her that in the UK we have to ride directly towards a traffic cone at a minimum of 50kmh swerve around it and carry on, on the same path whislt staying in control of the motorcycle it's interesting to see the differences between how the two countries conduct their motorcycle training

This guy keeps saying, she’s afraid to lean the bike Right now I stink at low speed maneuvering But put me in a leather suit, take me to the track and I’ll drop my knees on the ground dragging through the corners at 45 degree angles + and not be afraid to go 190+ Let’s get real It’s not about being afraid to lean the bike, which the author repeats numerous times,,,,it’s a lack of experience in low speed maneuvering, which requires a different set of skills Quit saying she’s afraid to lean the bike, she obviously just doesn’t have the low speed skills

I find myself afraid to lean on some of the streets around here but i think for good reason You dont want to take a turn and go theough loose gravel or a gutter going to fast so use your best judgement On the dmv course was having a blast racing around but they keep it clean

Harleys aren't designed to lean nor any American bike with low pipes Lean a fraction off centre and you'l scrape the pegs Most US roads are dead straight for miles and miles and miles

I was scared to lean the motorcycle, so my instructor made me get on the back, and he showed me how far he could lean without anything going wrong, this was scary for about a minute, after which something clicked and I began enjoying it

I just started riding about 2 months ago and on my first ride I naturally just turned my head into the direction I wanted to go, it just came to me as second nature I'm pretty sure this is because I've been skateboarding and snowboarding my entire life, and when you are skateboarding or snowboarding thats basically how you turn around corners, you lean and look in the direction you want to go 👍🏻

This is a natural reaction because you are afraid of the monocycle falling on top of you but practice makes perfect 👍 I remember the first time I got on a heavy bike I was so afraid to make a turn but I keep remembering the lesson and they paid off at the end just beautiful finally I got very positive results 👍

I learned how to ride on a 1977 Honda Elsinore CR125M You learned how to turn quickly, because when it entered the power-band in a turn, you better be on top of it! What I wouldn't give for a nice 2-stroke dual-sport today! I have no issues leaning my cruisers I worry about riders who stop to turn like the ones here They're the ones who will get rear-ended or something
