I been going through the fort pitt tunnels all my younger years and didnt think anything of it I moved to Florida my senior year in highschool and it was a culture shock Going to a school that had only two or three black students even though i visit relatives that had blacks all around but when i came to Florida bam 50 percent black students but all is well after my highschool graduation i blended in Now for the interesting part i brought my wife to Pittsburgh before we left i told her we would l through 4 tunnels three in West Virginia and one in Pittsburgh which i forgot the tunnel in Virginia but West Virginia removed one from the turnpike route Well all was normal until we went through the fort pitt tunnel my wife got the bigest surprise when we hit down town on the other side Still i didnt think anything different than i saw growing up But my wife was so surprised in amazement I learned a lesson dont take things for granted because someone will be amazed I appreciate the city of Pittsburgh and always have to go up to mt Washington on grand view avenue I thought shearaden had a view of the city up on Glassgo avenue but grand view is a Grand View of the city summer or dead winter all is beautiful Im hoping to go back this Christmas break And Grandview will definitely be one of our stops 73 Comment from : Ron B |

Primanti Brothers and Schlotzsky's are both GR8 places to grub That city view from the tunnel is priceless Just like the view of Yosemite Valley from the tunnel, with El Cap and Half Dome unforgettable Kennywood is a must see, it has awesome roller-coasters Everything was chill when I visited in the early 2000s, and locals have their language Turtle Creek is pronounced differently, from our standard American English Comment from : Rob Serrano |

I'm retired now in Florida Having grown up in Brooklyn, I married a girl from Plum Boro in 1974 Saint Peg and I are still married 49 years later I raised my family in western PA and there couldn't have been a better place to do so Pittsburgh has the best of both worlds There is an active downtown area, featuring the arts, sports, dining, shopping, etc But one can experience rural attractions within as little as a half hour from the Point brAfter nearly fifty years, I still get goosebumps when exiting the Fort Pitt tunnel at the only city that has its own entrance Comment from : John Roche |

LA native all my life, but if it ever comes to finally moving out of my hometown (hopefully not, but you never know in this day and age), Pittsburgh sure wouldn't be a bad option to consider in that sense City's just about the right size to be managed properly, plus I just like the character and vibe about it! Pittsburgh is one of my favorite cities and a real gem While I agree 100 about the beauty of the setting, bridges, downtown, etc there are also a lot of really ugly residential areas Mostly this is due to the heavily industrial past and minimal effort given to provide anything but the bare essentials to migrant workers Still, I love visiting Pittsburgh and have always had great experiences there Things are accessible, people are really friendly, and there is a ton to do!
