Good Morning Sir, I got to admit that I haven't purchased any constitutional coins, well, your right about the calculations to do to equate them to 1oz of Silver, no matter what the combinations to factor in, I've seen your video that you have put out and it's a very good video but my mind doesn't appreciate the math involved I do see it in the future but as of now, I'll wait Thank You Sir Comment from : THE SARGE |
Isn't one ounce pure silver a better deal Comment from : Cory Smith |
Wouldn't it be called 'junk' because the coins are worn to the point where there is no numismatic value? Comment from : No Hurry |
Ive been stacking for a while but only recently started getting into constitutional- I thought all post 1964 coins were 40 silver for a while? If they are, are they worth keeping? Comment from : Water Bear |
You're not correct in your interpretationbrIt's called junk silver because it has no numismatic value The value of the coin is based only on spot price of silver and the amount of silver in the coin Comment from : Ed Silvius |
You should give more love to silver quartersbrSince 1963 at least, one silver quarter buys 1 gallon of gasoline Comment from : David Barber |

Coinage 1965 and later was commonly known as a "sandwich" coin at the time Comment from : David Barber |
In the 1960s and 1970s we simply called 900 fine silver "coinage" silverbrI have no idea why anyone ever felt the need to change that name Comment from : David Barber |

Hi SD! I visited a local Coin shop Saturday, and was talking about junk silver He had never heard the story about how, in 1964, a 1964 quarter would buy a gallon of gas, about 20-25 cents at the time If you had a 1964 quarter today, you could sell it at the LCS and take the cash and buy a gallon of gas He got it before I finished the story 'cause he understands the value of real money, and it's value over time Comment from : Old Silver |
🌎🗿™️ Comment from : James Oneal Brown |
Unfortunately junk silver premiums are so high right now that it makes no sense Finding rounds with better premiums is much easier I would NOT tell a new stacker to stack junk I agree that having a small amount makes sense Comment from : Rick M |

I've been worried about hyper inflation for some time, so precious metals - basically gold and silver - seemed like a good hedge that I could afford An old friend of the family found out and offered to sell me their silver coin collection I found Kitco online and instead of counting it all, I bought it by the pound I feel so much more secure now Comment from : David Knigge |
I really like junk silver US Constitutional is great but I like all junk silver Early British, Canadian and Australian is sterling 925 and I like the crowns, half crowns, florins, shillings, sixpence and Threepence coins I try to stay away from anything less than 80 but I do make some exceptions if it's one of the types I collect but I don't look for anything less than 50 silver At that point the premiums coupled with the sheer weight of coinage and only half of it silver is a burden so I pass on the war nickels and the 40 halves Comment from : HillbillyStacker |
Junk fiat has a far better ring to it, but not as sweet a ring as constitutional silver Comment from : S Williams |
