You know its funny Ever since listening to dave ramsey, i love this type of advise However, seeing that so many people went onto unemployment and even got their extra $600 a week or month(whichever it was), whats the incentive to have an emergency fund if the government helps bail everyone out?

I say 8 months of expenses and an extra 5 grand for emergencies I saw too many people get burned by the mess in 2008 and 2009 It sucks that you aren't earning interest, but it never hurts to be cash flush

I get why an emergency fund is important and I have one but with inflation and how low interest rates are, there's no way I'd put 2 years worth in it (each to their own though)br6 months for the essentials +10 buffer for the unknown things I couldn't forecast is my game plan
