Gold Maples are my choice also, and with the recent dip in price to the lowest of the year so far it's a good opportunity to pick up a few more I can't say I agree with you on silver "blowing up" though I really don't anticipate the gold to silver ratio changing a lot from what it is now If I have to quickly move with just what I can carry, I'd rather have a pocket full of gold coins than an 80-pound suitcase full of silver It's good to have some silver though if you ever need it for barter to get inexpensive items like food

I am just going to buy one or two ounces of gold each year I am in my early 30s so by the time I retire at age 67, I will have a lot of gold I have over 100 ounces of silver now, and I think that is enough for me Platinum and the other precious metals do not excite me as much as gold and silver, so I will refrain from buying them

Have more ounces of silver over 100 is good, but why buy a lot I'd diversify Put more money into retirement savings, buy a nice house, keep a lot of paper dollars, buy land, cattle, buy some gold, invest in some stock like bank stock etc

I also collect coins for their beauty: really love Canadian Maple Leafs for their intricate design on the leaf, I also love the silver American eagles especially the proof variety, not the BU I am not crazy about Mexican Libertads, Britannias and philharmonics No offense to anyone I absolutely love the Chinese Silver Pandas which I think are the prettiest bullion coins after the Maple I have a love/hate relationship with Kookaburas/Koalas and Lunars

If you have 100 ounces of silver, I think that should be enough Most financial advising firms believe that 20 of your investment must be in silver If you have more ounces of silver, that is fine too However, I personally believe you should not buy and focus totally on silver, you should diversify your wealth I really think what lanceoa is doing is smart, as he is buying gold in fractional amounts and that is the way to go, given that gold is too expensive per ounce
