I do not know how true this is but I have heard the US Mint has to buy silver that is sourced from the United States in order to make the Silver Eagles The mint contracts out for the blanks to make into coins but sometimes there are not enough blanks This holds production down sometimes

Always great info I do buy them from time to time, but they are for gifts, not for stacking American Eagles are far more interesting and recognizable by non-investors, so they are fun for birthdays and Christmas (And far easier to shop for!) Generic rounds or bars are always my go-to for stacking

Thanks for this video I would love to see some info on behind the scenes for local coin shops or online bullion dealers I'm interested in starting my own business but don't know how or where to start Also have no idea how to get in with the wholesalers It looked like apmex requires quite a bit to get wholesale and some of those groups if not all you have to be a part of require you selling coins etc for a year or two it seems Doesn't make sense to me if I have money and want to start a business I need a supplier that is below retail Otherwise I'm left trying to buy inventory on market dips and waiting on a rise to sell so I'm not just giving money away? That will never happen on silver eagles all the dealers suppliers know that people will pay that high premium high price so all they got to do is just keep the price there doesn't matter what the US meant does doesn't matter they're still going to keep why would you lower it why would any company lower it when they know you got goofballs out there that will pay $40 a coin because it's a silver eagle doesn't matter the reason there's too many other coins out there to buy but they're still selling them at that price so why would they lower it I wouldn't

When authorized purchasers are paying $235 over spot per ASE and turn around and sell them for $16 plus spot (and that's even a good price if you can find it) is boarder line Criminal There's no way customers should be paying that type of premium for what was considered just a few short years ago, a bullion coin, which you'd be able to get at a few dollars over spot at the most

The USA is a vast country and the bulk of the Silver Eagle purchases will be in the USA Coins are more popular and sought after in the country of origin Millions of Eagles are minted each year also making them a very common coin whereas other countries may only produce several hundred thousand each year Therefore your statement is incorrect, it is likely the USA Eagle is the most popular in the USA, certainly not in the UK or in many other countries

I used to buy 2 tubes every year, and now I buy 2 coins every year (when on sale) , plus one proof from the mint There just is no other coin that feels as good in hand than an ASE, but the prices are just crazy When you can but Phils or Brits for less than generic rounds, it makes sense to leave the Eagles to the rich folks who can afford them There's just too many good choices out there to pay those premiums
