I’m self taught and have been unknowingly doing point 2 It just feels like the most important basic thing to do in order to learn a song Comment from : Sammi |

Honestly it just seems like chord 7 doesnt fit into anything 3:15 - 3:31 xDbrbrPS: Really like chapter 2, my teacher back in the day always made me play every section 100 accurate 3 times in a row, before moving up the tempo / to another section I think it greatly helps Comment from : Tiloni Mariba |

Really loving your content! I used to play piano years ago (self taught) but I would just learn really hard pieces and practice them over and over until i could somewhat play them I never focused on the fundamentals and that prevented me from becoming a proper pianist Comment from : Joel |

I practiced Fur Elise for fun today It’s all by muscle memory at this point Comment from : Kalei Maile |

As a music teacher myself I’m going to take a guess at what he’s going to say just for shits and giggles……1) scale chords (diatonic triads) 2) combining 4s, 8s n 16ths both hands at the same time (co-ordination) 3) Finger excercises and muscle memory 4) working out root notes by ear 5) Learning sightreading via LANDMARK method and not mnemonics Comment from : tronlady 1 |

Hi Jazer - love your channel and all the great info What is the name of the piece you play starting at 8:48 in this video? Thanks! Comment from : Debra Cain |

For point #1, I found the first progression more satisfying because I felt a tone shift and envisioned it leading somewhere unpredictable, is there something wrong with me?😢 Comment from : FancyPelican |

The metronome is without a doubt your most honest critic Definitely a must for proper practice Comment from : Sagittarius 88 |

Bass players are pretty good at keeping the beat too because we have to lock in with the drummer You can also try tapping your foot as you play and the helps almost acting like a metronome I like your videos and I cannot emphasize the importance of daily practice because after I picked up the bass I did not play my piano much and now when I sit down to play something I cannot play many of the songs I used to play so it’s back to basics practicing scales and pulling out the old Hanon book to practice exercises to hopefully get some dexterity back Comment from : Rog Expo |

I have no words to express my gratitude to u bcz U are an amazing teacher who gives almost all the best tips a beginer should knowI play by earAnd very lazy to learn theoryBut after watching this video I understood that gambling on the piano won't work well if I want to improve So thankyou sooooooo muchBless you 🙏❤️ Comment from : Mangala Perera |

For number 3 what I do is to step with force to the rhythm, it takes some time to lift it and get it down, so if I can't count the time with my mind I just start doing steps at a the BPM of the song, or half BPM if it's fast, that way I can control the rhythm while also "feeling" the song because of the stepbrJust that you need to do it quietly and with soft shoes or your steps will distract you Comment from : Osoreru WF |
