|
Thinking about getting a 77" G3 The studs on my wall don't line up with exactly where I was the tv though, and with that included mount it doesn't allow for any side to side adjustment It looks like in this video you just used drywall screws and anchors for the G3 Do you think that is sufficient for a 77"? Good video - EXCEPT, it was pretty evident you are bias against Sony:br1) You mention QD-OLED & only mentioned Samsung (Sony made the first QD-OLED TV & in 2023 has the #1 in the A95L)br2) You mentioned MiniLED & how the more zones the better (this year the X93/95L proved that move zones isn’t always better when you have better processing On the spec sheet got statement shows Sony losing, but that has proven to be incorrect) and about processingbr3) You mentioned higher end TVs generally offer better processing w/o giving specifics on this particular case (and this happens to be the main area where Sony outshines EVERYONE - again professionals have proven this time & time again)brbrWeak video because of this Comment from : Tyler Nelson |

I need some advice I have a 3-year-old Sony Bravia, XR65X90H, and I would like to upgrade to a larger sized Sony Bravia, either 75” or 85”
br
brSeveral months ago, I read that the 2024 Bravias will have several new features, one of which was a significant improvement over the current ‘L’ model Unfortunately, I don’t remember what it was or where I read it
br
brBottom line: would you recommend that I buy the current model but with a larger screen (Sony XR75X90L or XR85X90L), or should I wait for the 2024 models?
br
brThanks Comment from : Richard Badger |

Okay, let me tell you something: 4k TVs are disgusting There, I said it They're a total gimmick and a waste of money, just like those overpriced 4k Blu-rays It's just a bunch of pixels crammed onto your screen, and who needs all that? I'll tell you who: those dumb consumers who think they're getting some kind of premium experience, when really they're just being ripped off And honestly? 1080p Blu-rays are more than enough for most people CRT TVs are the best and will always be the best Comment from : George W Bush |

Funny that all TV makers asume everybody wants to have their living room like a frigging PUB I'll pass on that In my social bubble having a 70" TV is joining the lower income side of the hood and screams "Football" (for US readers: the game with a round ball and 22 over-tattoed over-paid lads on grass) My wife is even more strict so 32" it is (I tried 37, but that had to go) And on the small size, absolutely NOTHING is being made So we went for a 2009 Sony Bravia, and you know what, it has stellar IQ because it has no local dimming that turns into dirty screen effect over time, and gorgeous colours thanks to CCFL backlight Yeah, its 65W energy use is high by todays standards, but still it should deserve lable A on an absolute scale that does not give benefit to bigger size panels People are amazed by what it still offers after 14 years On my office I've a 25€ yesteryears 42" Plasma, my guilty pleasurebrWe DO have the best soundsystem in the street though Massive 25kg center speaker, 2 floor standing 1m20 tall full-range ones on a proper distance from the TV Huge Onkyo 92 receiver Even though we mostly watch quality drama series and arthouse films, the voice dialog is on cinematic quality and the music really shines Our niche seems to have been forgotten by SoccerSamsung and FootbaLG Comment from : 2kB of Fun |

Do you think sony a95l will be cheaper at the end of the year? It says it releases 20th september in sweden $7000+ seems way too much for 77" since A95K started at about $4500+ for the 65 inch Comment from : Tim Fagerlund |

Just got a second hand fullHD Panasonic Plasma for 30€, and it blows anything out of the water when it comes to price/performance OLED like colours, magnificent uniformity and brightness, deep blacks, excellent viewing angles, 1:1 pixel perfect Blu Ray playback, 3x SCART RGB, composite, 4x HDMI, so perfect for a bunch of retro consoles Best of all, no stinking smart OS that ruins the experience Comment from : 2kB of Fun |

I ended up buying the Samsung AU7110 55 Inch God do I regret it What an absolute pile of shit The software is so laggy it's infuriating Trying to navigate around and there's over a second delay between clicking the button and something actually happening Sometimes apps just get stuck in an eternal loading state Even increasing or decreasing the volume there is a huge delay Pretty disappointing paying over 400 quid for that I was looking at throwing it in the bin and getting the Sony XR-55A75K – 55 Inch - BRAVIA XR Is this something you would recommend? Great review TechChap, and difficult to find on the interwebs nowadays I currently have a Panasonic 65" Oled tv, not new, not current, but still delivering excellent images, so, for now, if it aint broke, dont fix it When I bought it, one of the show-stopper decision makers was the decoder, and the Panasonic decoder at the time was out there on its own, it delivered great pictures, and that was the clincher It still does that even now, so, will stay with it, and would include Panasonic in any search for a new tv So, how to figure out if your chosen tv has a good or bad decoder? It is difficult to pick differences in off air tv imaging, tv networks are governed by a tight tv transmission specification at their side and they mostly do great work, delivering excellent images However, with much, if not most, content now coming from the interwebs, it becomes useful to skim round the web delivery services and check out how it all looks Two parts to this story though, what did the YouTube (or chosen other) send out to you in the first place, and what did the tv do with what it got? There are a 1000 different answers here and you would pick your favourite channels and use those as your reference My point is to highlight that there is more to tv now than simple off air (off cable/off satellite) reception, and different decoders are used for each Worth checking Note, that all high end tvs have these issues resolved now, but if you want to check out the lower order tvs, it will be worth looking around and checking Comment from : Matti Gower |

I don't believe you need to upgrade your sound system as often as you would your TV, which logically should be all that frequent Once every 10 years? If it ain't broke So most should already have a speaker system Don't do it if you don't have to New TV for your new console vs new TV to watch sports or movies Not really worth it imo Comment from : Maxx Koggen |

I myself unless something fails will always purchase any new TV’s between late October and early April and last year I bought two Last October I picked up a 65” Samsung QN90B which has been a phenomenal set and one I use every day but I couldn’t quite get the OLED out of my mind and two months later(Dec 21 to be exact) I went in and purchased a 77” LG G2(my first OLED) and also bought the Denon X4800H AVR I had to wait until end of January for the Denon to release so I had them both delivered and installed at the same time(Feb 13) and I moved the QN90B to my upstairs living room and have been rocking it all ever since It’s been great and don’t anticipate needing to upgrade again anytime soon especially with the extended 5 year panel warranty on the G2 That being said if I were looking this fall instead of last fall I’d have absolutely no problem getting the TCL QM8 and I’d most likely get the 98” The tv is just phenomenal this year and TCL really knocked it out of the park Comment from : Lozin |
