Until Cine-D lab tests this cameras actual dynamic range Ill holdy opinion on that fromt; however, many of the cameras claiming to have more dynamic range at a similar price point actually don't once all aspects of their images are compared on equal ground For example the A7S III Only has 124 stops of dynamic range at a s/n ratio of 5 and that's with it's always on noise reduction Which means if one looks at the pocket 6k pro and sees a dynamic range of 118 stops with a s/n ratio of5 but without any NR, and even simple NR will increase a camera by 1 stop the pocket 6k and 6k pro world achieve at least 128 stops of dynamic range with equivalent NR applied to it In fact Cine-Ds charts show the patch range for the pocket 6k / 6k pro are larger than the A7S III implying it has more recovery potential CVP even achieved about a half a stop more recovery in their comparisons tests My point is claimed dynamic range is not actual dynamic range So until this new cameras sensor is lab tested in an equivalent state we don't know how this camera really preforms Comment from : Bill Young |

Former BMPCC 6K Pro owner here brI absolutely LOVE BM Raw and the studio license that comes with the camera is incredible value, as Resolve is IMHO the best NLE on the marketsorry Premiere, FCP & Avid brBut the form factor of these 'pocket' cameras is UGGGGLLLY! brThat's why I sold my 6K Pro It delivers beautiful images, despite the poor rolling shutter brBut the form factor is so clunky and just plain ugly brThe Ursa Mini(s) on the other hand are gorgeous to look at and even better to work with brSo as cool as this upgrade is, I'll quietly be sitting on the sidelines patiently waiting for an improvement on the design/form factor of the 'pocket' cameras Comment from : McSnapples |

Love Grant's no BS approach, makes most of the other presentations seem quite pretentious BMD is great brbrFF is cool but most of the BMD fans are already whinging a lot about the lack of NDs, same body, no SDI out, somewhat restricted frame rates, no UHD 4K setting, etc BMD holds down prices by recycling parts Love it or hate it, that's BMD I think they are keeping their fans and users but I don't see this new camera driving a ton of other brand users toward BMD for this camera People want usable AF, internal NDs, full sized XLRs and a boring shoebox form factor You can debate that all you want but that's what buyers say they want I still bet that the new camera is cheap enough where a lot of higher end users will just pick one up as a B camera or a fun camera, I would if I had a spare $2,600 laying around brbrAll of the cloud stuff Meh I could see it being pretty cool if you are doing shared international production? I am genuinely super happy for the first full frame sensor, L mount, CFExpress But he said cinema camera for really high end productions, and took out another pocket camerabrI have all the pockets, 4K, 6K, 6K Pro: the fact is, as soon I start to rig it for something a bit more complicated than wandering around the street randomly testing the camera, if I want a v-mount battery, a power distribution plate, a SDI port, I need to attach a train of stuff far enough from the monitor, that this pocket camera becomes longer and heavier than the Ursa Mini! brWith a box form factor it would be different, look at Kinefity, Red, even ZCam brThis fact of targeting dslr style users, and letting the rest reluctantly accept the many downsides of the form factor, just because there aren't any comparable alternative around for colours and look, is a very risky game for BM Comment from : Nicola Paoli |
