I use one of those foot rests to i sit holding the guitar classical style even though i dont play classical its the most comfortable angle to hold the guitar while seated

I was doing okay at 4 beats Foot would tap in synch to the 4 beats But when switching to 8 beats, my foot wanted to tap 8 beats too
