Dayum those Efnote/Alesis kits are nice I just want a kit that I can play at home that feels like a real kit and not a toy Also never heard a module yet that impressed me it's all about those sweet plugins in my opinion so can remove that as a factor completely! Comment from : Bob Marley |
You were great as Spiderman 😉 Comment from : Nankle Flank |
At least I know what my millionaire option kit would be! 😅 Comment from : cyclonicleo |

Justin Demo these Millenium MPS-1000 D2 E-Drum Set NT be interesting against the drum leaders Comment from : danny goode |

Can you do a review on the Lemon T950? Very cheap e-kit for huge value Comment from : FatTofu |
I'll never really understand how aesthetics would trump portability and/or floor space If it's electronic, why have the kick drum take up 18" of depth? Maybe I'm just minimalist Comment from : Mark on the YouTubes |
I already own the alesis strike mulitpad so should I buy the command or Nitro ekit as I can use my strike as the module for sounds with the triggers? and be hooked up on the more expensive module with the command or are the triggers not going to work the same with the strike multipad as the brain, ? the difference is $600 here in nz between the nitro and command and surge options, Comment from : JohnnyBananas |
What about the VAD307? Comment from : eliyahu klapman |
Have you done a review on the Millennium 1000, its getting allot of attention at the moment Comment from : mick1977 |
Hey JustinI'm having a hard time finding a kit that has everything I want What would you recommend for a compact kit with pads that also have a bell zone and allows rim shots on the snare, and with a decent module that can create a big 80's metal sounds? Comment from : Ethan Brosh |

Justin, love your channel I have been watching this for quite some time now I currently have an Alesis Crimson and looking to upgrade to one of the Roland TD VAD models Do you know if they offer a 13" snare? Comment from : Jonathan Ballard |
Twenty years has gone by and I'll still only ever get great drum sounds band/b real drum feel by spending as much as I would on a freakin' jetski br brThat stinks I would've thought it had changed by now These efnote fells sound promising, but I'm still looking at 3 or 4 g's before they don't feel and sound like toys and even more before I'd consider playing them instead of my actual drums which aren't even that nice! Comment from : Aes Cyprium |
Assistance Needed: To all drummers out there, could you recommend the most budget-friendly drum set from this video that would be suitable for a small country church? At present, we utilize a conventional full drum set, but it tends to be excessively loud regardless what sticks we use We absolutely LOVE the drums, but unfortunately, the acoustic version doesn't have a volume knob :) Comment from : Scott Nichols |
Hello Love your channel!brbrDo you think you could look into the Millennium brand? They are offering a triple zone ride, fully functioning hi-hat, and 10" mesh pads on their MPS-750x model for only $500 It almost seems too good to be true Comment from : GrubStomper29 |
Can you suggest a kit to buy at current prices? The TD-17K and KVX are $1500 and $2000 right now and I don’t know if that is worth it I was gonna get the KVX but can’t find it for the $1500 you mention in the video Comment from : Aarav Verma |
Great video! Need some help I am doing what you said not to do, I am upgrading my old kit LOL I need to upgrade my rubber TDK11 px-8 pads Now do you recommend the PD-108 or the PDX-100? I can get either one about the same price used Thanks Comment from : Maximum Guitarage |
"trigger plates cracking in half" on the older Alesis strike pro snares?!?! Oh no I bought one of them used So far no issues but what does that mean exactly? What should I be on the look out for? Comment from : Jim Krieger |
I'm starting to think there will never be an Alesis Strike Pro II 😭brbrAll they need to do is provide better clamps and cymbals and they would jump back in the competition Comment from : DJ Dyer |
cool Justin thanks! what's your advice on buying the TD27 vs TD50? (if there would be no budget limit, but that there is no use of all the advanced features of the TD50) Comment from : thechillisme |
Why did you leave out td50kv2? Comment from : Luis Segura |
youtube/juy71tt8FVY Comment from : DIY CHANNEL |
Roland/DW is going to release a wireless electronic kit this year I think Comment from : Roland Duke |
I bought the efnote 5 and really love the natural sounds, look and feelbrAnd for 2800e it's a bargain amongst the real kit lookalike options I'm in my 7th decade now and tinnitus has become a big issue This kit has allowed me to carry on gigging without choking up the sound of a nice acoustic kit because it was too loud And the band love it now after a sceptical beginning! Comment from : Stixpooper |
So what set do you think is better for at home practice, the Alexis Strike Pro SE or the Efnote 3x? I like the bigger drums so I like the 4 Tom’s and extra cymbals, just wondering which one is better Comment from : Keith OConnor |
Hey Justin please do a td 27 kv 2 video !! Comment from : nachodrums |
Great update ❤ I bought a VAD506 with an additional FT and VH14D Hats for a great price and can't see updating this kit ever Along with SDX Expansions our bands drum tracks sound awesome Definitely agree that its Rolands best kit for an organic feel before things get too crazy pricewise Excellent (very) long term investment Comment from : Val Beccia |
The TD27KV gen 1 is now priced as $2700, why is it not included in the sub $3000 price range? Comment from : TikTok6oclock |
Justin, Which is your content set? Comment from : Salvador Eguiarte DG |
Does anyone make a small "Trigger pad" like the "Roland BT-1" that has a better bounce to it? Something like a "mesh trigger pad" This is an invention that needs to happen, cuz the rubber trigger pads (for cowbells, woodblocks, etc) are a drag when mixed in with mesh electric-drums Comment from : GreenDrink Guy |
What do y’all think about the Roland VAD-306-1 Comment from : Jayyyccc |
I just bought a Roland VAD307 Seems to be the "best for the money" right now (@ $2800) Using it for home practice and learning rudiments around the kit My gigging kit stays in cases, so it's perfect for quiet convenient compact home practice Comment from : Prattmandu |
Does anyone make a SMALL electronic 6" or 65" 0r 7" drum pad, that FEELS more like an acoustic drum/drum-head, than the Roland PDX-6 (That thing just don't feel right when you crank the heads tight) Comment from : GreenDrink Guy |
The price really went up since this video came out for the first set but it’s still seems like a good pick Comment from : NinjaAwes0me |
As someone who's new to the world of e-drums, I find your channel to be an amazing source of information- thanks for all the work you have done over the years! I am finding it difficult to make a choice for my 1st purchase as the pricing and models available in Canada are different than what you have quoted from pricing in the States Comment from : David Millage |
What about maintenance?? No one talks about maintenance?? What if the cymbals and high hat breaks?? What if the skins on the drums tear??? Comment from : Wakabi |
Wound up purchasing Efnote 3x and love the sounds and feel I have no compelling reason to edit the sounds as they seem to sound natural as far as electronic kits go Comment from : Steve Christopher |
Hi mate Great video! Have you heard of the Artesia a250? I think the sounds are made by efnote? I’m looking at this one because it looks more Like an acoustic kit and also is very affordable On the other hand I love Roland But this one is making me think Comment from : Mrluchendo |
Where does Drum Tech come in on your list now that it is sold in USA? Comment from : Paul Goodwin |
I think the price jump from $1500 to $2700-3000 is just way too bigbrThere has to be a number of great e-drum sets in the $2000-2200 range and they are all missing from this otherwise great reviewbrI have a Roand VAD-306, that has decent shell sizes ( 12" snare and 10-10-12 toms and a big 18" kick ), good mid-level module TD-17 and good cymbals 12" and 13" and a beautiful chrome stand set instead of the usual black rack It costed around $2000 Comment from : Tibor Feher |
Well, I bought the TD27KV kit and 3 months later Roland brought out the KV2 version with the digital hi hat, better cymbals, upgraded module - for only a $100 more than I paid Plus, the kit I bought went on sale for $300 off Nice ‘kick’ in the ‘head’ Comment from : Blort Snergfud |
Which snares have a raised lip so ypu can have an edge hit Comment from : 24isthebestracecar |

Was going to go for the td17 kvx but got a VAD 306 for £200 more, seems worth it for the bigger drum sizes Comment from : Adam Steele |
Could you test the FAME Hybrid PRO E-Drum Set some time Curious to see what you think of it Comment from : Paul Agerbeek |

Enote has the best out of the box sounds No comparison Comment from : Andy Peiffer |
I am about to buy a edrum and I am a complete beginner I would like the Yamaha DTX452K because of the training program on the app But I'm wondering if I'm better off with a Roland TD-07DMK Can't decide, plz help haha Wanna stay around 600euro budget Comment from : Sara |
I don’t get the issue with the sounds on the 1250, I mean i don’t have the best experience with every electronic drum kit, I upgraded from a Alesis turbo mesh kit to the Simmons one, I felt like it was a massive improvement, I think the sounds are fantastic ;-;brbrI feel like you gave more props to the 1200 instead of the 1250 Comment from : BagelQ |
Great reviews mate Thanks Comment from : Walter Barr |
Your videos are exceptionally well written and edited Great information Drums are not my primary instrument, but I love them just the same, and would like to get the next level kit soonso your tips are helping Comment from : Tom Jones |
I have a request for I love your videos I moved you into an apartment and I have not played the drums for a year-and-a-half Now I'm getting offers again but I cannot play my acoustic it is in storagebr This may sound silly but for us apartment people I need to know what the quietest heads what is there v mesh heads or the cheap Alicia's heads doesn't matter, please do a video on which heads make the absolute least amount of noise if you're not hitting them too hard I am talking about with the module off as opposed to on Right now the Sounders don't matter I know how to play the drums Play have to start all my excercises and rudiments all from scratch but I have neighbors upstairs downstairs and on every side If they hear the drums I could get thrown out of my building So I'm looking for a good kit as far as arranged like a drum kit but minimal sound quiet as humanly possible Thanks in advance I can't use rubber they're way too loud It has to be mesh heads I just don't know if I should be single double or triple ply and what brand makes the quietest heads I know lots of drummers in same situation Help please Comment from : mppaiges |
Urgent question I hope you can answer or do a video on I can't play it all anymore cuz I don't have a place to usemy acoustic it I need to know which heads on e,-drums are the quietest the absolute least amount of sound if you don't hit them too hard I moved into an apartment in a building and I have neighbors upstairs downstairs and on every side of me I could care less about how good the modules, sound Comment from : mppaiges |
Yo man! Not sure if you will see this but I watched a video a while back where you recommended a spray product for cleaning edrum cymbals Would you know off the top of your head what this product was again? Comment from : Nexus Sawb |
Thanks for the heads up on the discontinuation of the Roland TD-17KV! I was able to find a set at the price you mentioned I'm a beginner drummer, but am willing to bump my budget up a little bit to buy known quality, instead of saving a few hundred bucks on a gamble Comment from : ericIIDX |
Hi, would you mind make a video listing from very top to bottom (or viceversa) all the Roland Modules that worth it from say the td07 up?brbrI want to replace my 07 and I dont really reach in money to the 50 neither 30 and other than that, the list confused me a lotbrbrAlso, Im not even sure which one on "the list" are outdated by nowbrbrIt will also be great to know which of them either have bluetooth included or at least the possibility of adding it somehowbrbrThanks very much in advance :) Comment from : Jesus Piano |
Do any have a HUD with "guitar hero" style lessons ? If not why not Comment from : Phillip Oliver Holtz |
I'm new to e-drums and I have a question for you: if I plan to play my drums using something like EZ drummer 3 99 of the time, how important is a good module? Thanks Comment from : Halfaron Ulmondil |
Thanks! Comment from : GrudenMusic |
I just got myself a Millenium MPS-850 kit Do you have any thoughts about it? It's big enough, it sounds okay and it cost me only 666 euro Comment from : Lars Eikind |
I haven't looked through your videos recently, but I would be curious to know what your take is on the f note three, five, seven series Comment from : Tony Drum |
Man, you delneed/del to check out the Millenium MPS-1000 Like really! It's incredible, acoustic size, accurate triggering (even fixed ride Bell not triggering well they had on MPS-850)brdelTHIS/del is the shining beacon! Just the HH is not acoustic-level perfect if you do very fast footwork on the pedal But I've gotten it pretty nice with adjusting settings & learning to raise my foot a bit before the actual note when needed Comment from : Fuzzy |
Any reason I should avoid the Millennium MPS-1000? Could not give less of a shit about the onboard sounds Comment from : Aspenshadow |
I got a VAD706 and it’s the most fun I’ve ever had with a new instrument Comment from : Matt Sisto |
I own the Yamaha DTX 8 kit and I love it Not a fan of the hi-hats as I'm still trying to dial them in but overall, they play well with SD3 and EZD3 I just can't get the hi-hats to respond like real ones but I know that's the challenge with most e-kits Maybe I should swap out the Yamaha ones for the Roland ones? Comment from : Mark Saxon |
I can't see you mentioning Millenium MPS-850 or MPS-1000 drum sets in any of your videos Maybe this is due to availability in the US? I don't know the build quality on these sets, but they should score 10/10 on the bang-for-the-buck scale when comparing electronic drum sets below $1000 🙂 Comment from : Bjørn-Ingar Trønnes |
which drumset is equivalent to the Yamaha DTXPress IV, which is what I currently have Comment from : Daveデイブです |
Hey Justin, my edrumset has a tom that is sounding quiet Is there a way to maybe clean something to make it sound loud again? Comment from : Daveデイブです |
Love the content Very informative video Recently sold my acoustic to move into a condo and now am looking into electronic Really considering the efnote 3x Comment from : Gurty |
I just want to say that Millenium just came with a 16x16 inch tom pad Is this new or already done by another big company? Comment from : Nxzh |
That drum loop is so annoying Comment from : Feralkitty9 |
We don't have many if any efnote dealers, but I just picked up the dtx8-m in Canada for 299999 CAD Sweetwater has it for 279999 USD which is like 3750 CAD with conversion They even said they had 20 off for boxing day Love it so far, super easy to set up and solid as a rock Comment from : Muskie Angler |
Yamaha DTX6K3-X is the best for a flat I do not know why I need full sized drums at home Yamaha DTX6K3-X is of reasonable size for a flat and the price is terrific! It is absolutely great through and through aaaand: it is super realistic due to the silicon pads! And it is also plug-n-play with superior drummer 3 (because there is a preset for it) And you have enough money over to buy superior drummer 3 (and maybe the decades expansion, which is so tasty and jazzey - god I love that expansion pack so much) I have it set up with a DTX --> MIDI --> Focusrite --> USB-Hub --> really old Dell Laptop --> Superior Drummer (sound files stored on external SSD) It is just endless fun! brBefore that I had Roland and Yamaha parts connected through an eDrummin to Superior Drummer Was also great and unbeatable money wise Comment from : PaulM |
Hey Justin, curious to hear your opinion on adding a Roland kd-220 to a td25kv this just dropped in price to 650 dollar No idea why as it used to be extremely expensive Comment from : Vince R |

I got the alesis stirke pro se as my first acoustic kit about a year and few months ago Still use it today The hihat issues ive heard of is on the older model I uploaded a few kits using ezdrummer and its pretty great It also can record straight to the module from my phone, and It can crop it the files to make samples/ insturments Comment from : Billy G Is Not My Drummer |

Roland is always better Comment from : Nikolai Vasilyev |
Just curious who actually buys $9k e-kits? Comment from : Dan Flak |
I like you!!! #1 place to + your subs P r o m o S M!! Comment from : Charles Gross |
I’ve owned 4 Roland kits and my favourite electronic kit for practice purposes is the Yamaha DTX6 silicone It was relatively inexpensive and the sounds and sound shaping exceed my other kits in terms of practical usage The big thing for me is the tracking of my playing accuracy Nothing has done more for my chops than this feature It’s like having a hard core teacher keeping me in line as it exposes all my weaknesses For hybrid live playing it’s the Roland TM6 Killer module at a bargain price and the most unsung hero of the drumming world in my opinion Comment from : Ian Mclean |
Hey man really great stuff you’re doing, by far the best information on e drums out therebrbrCould you get your hands maybe on the Millenium MPS 850? On paper to me it seems like a best buy under and around 1000$ but I would really like to hear your opinion Comment from : Nemanja Gerdijan |

The Roland TD-02K and KV are out (replacing the Roland TD1 series) Comment from : PureVanillaCookie |
I’m looking to snag the 17kvx since it’s down to 1500 now Is there any real reason I should do the kvx2? For reference, the main thing I’m wanting is good triggering and responsiveness Particularly with the hi hat (so your hi hat comment about this set worries me a bit) I’m not concerned about modifying or anything I just want a high quality intermediate set that will last me a long time and maintain its responsiveness, triggering, and sensitivity Is the 17kvx a good call as far as that goes?
